Sign the petition to get Daniel Tosh off the air for rape jokes and body shaming!
http://www.change.org/petitions/ceo-...ature_receipt#
Reason/summary of petition from site:
Daniel Tosh, offensive jokester extraordinaire, crossed the line a few days ago in a comedy club. During a skit in which he made jokes about rape, a young woman stood up in protest of the offensive jokes. In response, Daniel Tosh "joked" about how "funny" it would be if she were to be raped by "like five guys" right then. His jokes continued and the laughter in the club grew so loud that the young woman had to flee in fear.
This takes offensive joking to the next level. Tosh did not simply make jokes about rape, which is bad enough as it is, but he used his jokes in a threatening way that a young woman ran away to maintain her safety. He used his jokes to silence a person who was concerned with the nature of them.
This is not a man that deserves to be revered and aired daily. He is tasteless, offensive in nature, and proud of it. There should be no pride in humiliating and scaring other people. His fauxpology on Twitter was hardly sincere and only serves to show us how much he cares about himself, but not for other people. Bad things do happen, and yes, you CAN make jokes about them, but that doesn't mean you should. And it certainly doesn't mean that you get to decide if anyone should be offended by them.
This petition is to get Daniel Tosh and his show, Tosh.0, taken off the air permanently. No new episodes, no reruns, no comedy specials. Period.
As you probably know by now, Daniel Tosh has a history of being sexist and misogynist—but I bet you didn’t know that, on his television show, he actively solicited his male viewers to take videos of themselves physically harassing women, and then upload those videos to the internet.
Just in case they didn’t understand what it was he wanted them to do, he then played video of himself doing it. You know, as a visual aid.
I know you’ll be shocked to hear that his viewers did exactly what he asked.
(Extra bonus: fat-shaming! “Make sure she’s aware that you are in fact feeling a roll.”)
Sign the petition to get Comedy Central to kick this guy off the air.
Note that the network said fuck-all when this “go grope women!” segment aired —more than a year ago. So yeah, we need to make some noise.Last edited by pookieboo; 07-13-2012 at 12:15 PM.

Just signed it

I always thought he was an ass, but I never thought he would go that far. That is just a really terrible thing to do, and should no longer be promoted.

Thank you!
And we aren't wanting his whole career to be over, we just don't want him to be broadcasted. I don't know how many times I heard him call a 140 looking girl fat or a whale! And with as many insults that fly out of his mouth, I'm sure not only women are offended by him. I imagine some fear can be instilled in men, especially fathers with daughters- now they really don't think "being raped by 5 guys" is funny.

I never have been able to watch his show. I tend to appreciate dark, and sometimes crude, humor, but I've never found anything funny in any of his supposed jokes. He presents a disgusting attitude on a near constant basis.
It's surprising (well, not really) that it took something this big for the general public to finally start making a real fuss over his horrible "comedy."

I'm also sorely disappointed at the fact that he's gotten support from several comedians I thought would have known better.

Uh. Wow.
Ok I like offencive humor.
There's a level of 'rape joke' that I'll tolerate - and all that fall into involve HEAVY HEAVY sarcasm. (Example: "Yes I'm *tootalllyyy* interested in your 13 year old sister - [may be spoken or implied] what the fuck is your problem? No")
But what the fuck.
Signed. That's disgusting.
