Red face How much does this burn?

    Hey guys!
So on tumblr I came across a pic that said

Burn 100 Cals quickly by doing this

    40 jumping jacks
    30 crunches
    20 squats
    10 pushups

Do you think that actually burns 100 Cals or lower? I really don't know... Thanks x

No way. People on tumblr reaaaaalllyyyy need to get real.

Doing 10 minutes worth of jumping jacks alone you'd only burn like 50 or 60..
i guess if you weighed over 200lbs you'd burn 100 calories worth in 10 minutes, but no.

These are strength training type exercises. If you want to burn calories, then you're gonna have to do some cardio. You could do these as a warm up

on average, every two jumping jacks burns 1calorie, so you'd have to do like 200 jumping jacks to burn 100calories.
1000 jumping jacks every day for a week would burn around 1lb for the week.

    so 40 jumping jacks = 20calories burnt
so unless the rest burns 80calories (which i can tell you it won't) you be burning 100calories with that workout.. maybe 50 if you're lucky.

all of this depends on weight by the way, your height also and what your muscles are like.

Thank you for your quick replies!

Yea I was also skeptical because I know that for me if I run for 10 minutes I burn 99 cals, so I thought you could hardly burn 100 in about 3 minutes! And thanks for clarifying the burn rate of jumping jacks Back to running and skipping for me!
