    Angry how is this fair?

So im a bigtime restricter (wont mention numbers for the sake of everyone else) but its significant restricting, and i have broken my calorie count in 2 months and i had lost 7 pounds. So yesterday and today i decided i'd try being good to myself and let myself eat 1,000 calories. So fml i gained 4 pounds...in 2 days!!!! so screw being healthy looks like my options are to be a whale or to be ED-ed. mehhh
Im not losing weight, im getting rid of it, i have no intentions of finding it again

This happened to me but I gained 6 lbs !!!!!!!!

But I found it was due to major bloating and I hadn't been to the toilet in a few days (TMI) but after a day or so it corrected it self and the 6 lbs went.

So it is more then likely to be water weight.

well in that case eff water haha. That makes me feel a little better though hearing that happend to you, i dont want to feel like im destined to a life of dysfunctional eating. I mean i still go to bed with my stomach rumbling and hunger pains so i didnt think it could do that much damage. well hopefully its just water. Gaining too quickly pushes me over the top anxiety wise

I know I am the same, I am currently in recovery, but every time I gain, I bring it back down again, it's not nice, I freak out big time, but just make sure you drink plenty of water, and the if it is water weight it should correct itself.

    Are you bloated ??

I always really bloat out when I eat more.

I bloat out so much when I eat a lot, to the extent where I look pregnant.
It's because our stomachs and intestines have to swell to process the food.
I find it a lot more satisfying to drink A LOT throughout the day so that I can see a visible decrease in my stomach size the next morning. Fluid pushes fluid and water is calorie free- hurray!
Another note: the stress hormone cortisol causes us to store weight on our stomachs as a throwback to caveman days. As far as I can remember, cortisol comes after adrenaline, and so the weight is stored on our stomachs as a mechanism to protect vital organs.
THIS SUCKS! Because if you are nervous about eating then you will have a high level of cortisol, meaning you will hold weight around your middle, become even more upset....and so it goes on.
The human body can be a total bitch, but there is no way you can gain 4lbs of fat in 1 day (repeats mantra to self)

When your body is in starvation mode (eating below 1000 calories) especially when it's like...500 or below.. your body will lower it's metabolism to snail pace. So when you DO eat more, it holds on for dear life to extra calories. Supposedly though, if you eat "normal" for a period of time you won't gain anymore and you can maybe even drop down a bit..

Maybe try something like.. say you eat 500 calories..

    Eat 600 for a couple days..then 800...then 1000???

Very true...unless you want to restrict for the rest of your life and be very ill, it#s really the only option. You will initially gain but once your body raises it's metabolic rater your weight will even out and probably drop. But I guess this depends on whether or not you feel ready to recover, or attempt any sort of recovery.

    Oh and btw...don't restrict water!
