Fur on the body?
Now, I don't know whether this is true or not, but I've read that when you get too skinny, your body gets covered in fur, to warm it. I haven't seen pictures of it, and when I see really skinny models on the internet, their not covered in fur. So my question is, is it true? If you get too skinny, do you really get covered in fur?
Thanks.

When you don't have enough fat, and are not consuming enough calories to keep the body warm, you develop a type of fur. It's called Lanugo (read about it here). It's more or less the body's way to retain as much heat as it can.

It's not like animal fur, it's not too thick, I have it on my stomach and back even though I'm not SUPER skinny yet. Just depends on your body.

It's not really fur but downy-like hair -- really fine, light hair that is most likely not really visible unless you are looking for it.
I've never had it despite being very underweight. Not emaciated, but I've heard girls getting it at the BMI I am now. Then again, I've never lost my period either so I think I'm just weird.

Like the others have stated, it is possible to develop lanugo when your body fat drops below a certain percentage (I think maybe it varies from person to person). When I was emaciated, I had it on my back, arms, face, neck and chest. (attractive I know). My ex who is also anorexic never developed it despite having a bmi that was only slightly higher than mine.

You do not have to be thin to develop lanugo. If you have an ED at any shape, size and height you can get it.

I'm not rly underweight I'm at a bmi of like 17, but I was 16 not long ago and idk if that's like enough to get this, or I just happen to be noticing the hair on my body more now... I didn't used to have any hair on my stomach and my arms used to be bald but not rl anymore, and when I put like cream on my face on the sides of my face I can see the sparkly baby hairs :/ idk. Does it go away? I have to admit it doesn't appeal to me very much...

Aaaaaaahhhh the fur! It does happen and it looks really really odd.
Just before I was made IP I was covered in it, it was only really noticeable on my arms, where for some inexplicable reason it was dark (I do not have dark hair).
Looking like a tiny hirsute rat= not great.
It all dropped off though....
