Default My friend is ***THE TRIGGER*** (tw)

Sooo my (male) friend is like fucking skinny (5'10" 123lbs BMI around 17.5). But he doesn't starve himself or throw up, he's just got a very fast metabolism. Also, he doesn't enjoy eating that much.

We were talking random stuff on the messenger and we started talking about weight. He revealed his weight. I felt like shit ofc, because I'm here stuck in this "starving myself world" and my bmi is now 18.9 and he eats whatever he wants and doesn't put on any weight. Then he said his bmi used to be around 16. I just felt like a fat cow and started to cry. I know it sounds stupid. I also know that he wasn't supposed to trigger me (he knows about my ED)... I'm getting VERY competitive as you can see, and I hate it.

My current goal? Having a lower BMI than his. I'm disgusting... I don't feel like bingeing anymore. I feel like disappearing.

    Have you experienced this?

Yup. One of my best friends has a 16.2 BMI. He eats whatever he wants, he drinks alot, and he barely exercises. It used to upset me so much, until my BMI dropped to around 15. Then I started feeling this really sick sense of accomplishment for "beating" him.

Oh wow YES YES YES! My best friend is my height, and a whopping 100 pounds. The exact weight I WANT TO BE. He claims he eats a lot but he doesn't, even though he'll buy mcdonalds and eat that. He eats whatever and he doesn't have an eating disorder. He's just skinny. He has no fat on him, and whenever I see him, I feel hugeeee!! His BMI is 16..what I want to be
I kinda have stopped hanging out with him and won't see him until I lose the weight...

I'm not flawed, I'm just an excellent example of being human.

Uuuugh I have a friend who is the same way. Doesn't help that I have feelings for him too. He's probably around 5'8, and I think 145lbs, the last he said (so BMI of 22). He eats SO MUCH but is so skinny. Tons of pizza, Taco Bell, massive quantities of pop every day, etc. For the longest time my goal was to be lighter than him. I'm now his same weight, but my BMI isn't quite there yet. It felt so fucking good to reach that weight though.

Yea my best friends at my dance studio is kind of triggers for me. My closest friend is around my height (5'7") and about a year ago weighed 115 pounds she also has a fast metabolism and dances daily at her school. So ever since this has been my goal weigh and because this year she gained like 15 pounds (although you can barely tell) I lowered my goal weight to 110 because I reached 115 but gained and now weigh in the 130s. When I look at my friends I think they are all skinnier than me and it's terrible.

All the males in my life have been the same. Well i thought it was but since i started observe exactly what, when, how they eat, i can see that my eyes just didn't look at it hard enough before.

my brother - he was one year older than me, and 1 stone lighter. Either way i was 2 stone heavier than he was. growing up, we were given the same meals. Most meals, he'd chuck the veg out the window because when you're a kid, veg is naaazztyyy. He was more energetic than i was too. Always running around like a maniac. I'd rather water the garden with my pretend watering can. He still is tiny. He works lifting heavy boxes, up and down the stairs. And he hates doing things on a full stomach, like going out. He doesn't live to eat, put it that way!

guy friend - he was so skinny and i'd always see him eating something fatty. like a kebab or whatever. but this is what i see, he told me when he was drunk that he had anorexia. was flabbergasted but i was too paralytic to even talk about this or even show it. I've seen scars on his body but again, too drunk..... I'd like to confront him one day so he can talk it all out, but i just need to be veryvery drunk and when i get veryvery drunk i can't do a thing. Nothing will be said.

bfs - i had 2 very thin boyfriends. they loved their junk food too. anything high in sugar or loved ordering from the take aways, pasta and sandwiches. but one was very sociable and had friends on the other side of town (he also didn't have much money) and walked everywhere, and the other was a dealer who traveled by foot. So much time was spent doing these things that they didn't really have the time to eat, but when they did it, they ate!

lots of guys are like this. they grow up lean and tall. and they're constantly eating like garbage disposals. its sickening. for most of them it will catch up to them. my brother is point in case. he used to have an insane metabolism but is now 28 and has definitely been putting on weight, not a ridiculous amount but notable, because his metabolism isnt the same.

I know the feeling. My friend doesn't eat, but not on purpose, she just isn't interested. She's so skinny, and she always makes comments at me about my weight (I'm 160 cm and 58 kilos) I feel so sick, because everytime I run and feel like I can't run anymore, I think of 'beating her' and I get all this energy to keep on running...

This is exactly how I am with this one girl. We used to be really close friends but she was/still is my biggest trigger ever. One of the reasons I cut her out of my life was because I couldn't handle constantly being triggered by her every time I was with her, and that was a lot because we spent a lot of time together. She was a also kind of a bitch and made a good amount of comments about how I looked and acted that made me feel like shit.

One of my really good guy friends/ex is so skinny, but like lean muscular skinny. He eats whatever he wants all the time and he doesn't gain anything because he has a super fast metabolism and is on the football team. I can't stand eating around him, and I rarely ever do.
