Eating while walking....
This is a bad habit I have gotten into lately. I buy junk food whenever I have to walk some place. And of course this often includes multiple stops at different stores along the way. Actually I have really become aware of this lately. And I think I am starting to understand why I started doing it. When I walk-binge I can eat anonymously. I mean strangers see me, but none of my friends do. Also, I throw away all the wrappers and stuff before I get home so there isn't any evidence (for me or others). And eating while walking kind of gives me a mental cheat too, I think. Most of my past binges have been at home. Some how, if I binge away from home it is harder for me to pin down/recognize the shameful behaviour. I think this habit kind of snuck up on me. And I have only become aware of it in the last week or so. So, I guess now that I have identified it and am aware of it I will have to start calling myself on it.
Anybody else 'walk binge?'

I used to...
It starts by snacking at college, which makes me anxious, so I decide to leave. Thinking: "oh, well, it's already started", I stop and buy junk and pastry at like every store/bakery I bump into on the way home, so I get it out as soon as I get to the toilet.. It was very uncomfortable, especially while going by bus because I have motion sickness, and the anxiety of eating in front of others did its part..so the habit kinda went away.
Try to have some music player with you to distract yourself. I was much less likely to stop at the stores with the music on.~If you place a thing in the center of your life, that lacks a power to nourish,
it will eventually poison everything that you are
and destroy you...
No one can be the source of your content. It lies within, in the Center.~

I walk binge too!

In my case I can't wait to get home to eat my binge food. That's why I always buy something just to eat while walking home.this hole you put me in wasn't deep enough and i'm climbing out right now.

I am hoping that I can now make the jump from awareness to changing this behaviour. I think I am going to try to start rewarding myself with something when I make it home without eating. Sounds kinda lame but I think it might work for me. I guess I just need to think of something appropriate to reinforce the behaviour with.

Can see how easily this can become an habit. Since i started smoking, i found that i really need to smoke if i walk anywhere as that's the only time i really smoke.
It's not good for your body to eat whilst standing though. I think once that gets stuck in your brain that you need to sit down to eat, you'll be OK. There's things like indigestion, bloating and all sorts involved that you might have come across maybe already.
