Default Lets get fitter in February

Well January sucked. There were goods times, but there were some pretty bad fails!

I was hoping to work harder at changing. Was wondering if anyone wanted to join me. I'm aiming particulary at the bulimia and BED sufferers, but if you think this will help you a wee bit, i'd love it if you took part too!

Tomorrow (31st Jan) I'm gonna chuck away everything in my cupboards, freezer, fridge that's not considered healthy and clean. If it's still a full box of whatever, in the bin. Things like processed food, instant whatever, things that's not wholemeal etc. And it's not going to be thrown out in packets either. They've gotta be opened up, and emptied into a bin. Like this:
    5740634936_b6cc8b90a5_b.jpg
Have fun with it yo. Doing a good thing.

Gonna have 5-6 meals a day, that roughly looks like this in size:
    5796023160_0ac0ec924e_b.jpg
Every meal will be eaten at a dinner table. I don't have one of those, so i'm gonna sit down stairs on the sofa in piece an quite. So i know when i'm full.
In my room i'm gonna keep a 1.5 litre bottle of water next to me and make sure i drink it all every day. Obviously carrying a smaller bottle when i'm out.
A minimum of 1200 calories a day. Mostly gained from in fruit and veg. (Minimum of 1400 for PMS)
If calories are burned, they are added to the allowance. So say i burned 200, then the intake has risen to 1400 minimum.
I'm not only going to keep an online diary of what's eaten, but photograph it too.
And bedtime will be at 9-10pm. Waking up will be at 5-6am. Will also sleep when i'm tired, not when it's bed time.

Running will be done every day, first thing when woken up, or in the evening. For about 30 - 45 minutes.
Heart rate will be kept up by doing other various light exercises throughout the day, such as strength training, dancing, house work or just by taking a walk somewhere.
I'll make something arty everyday. No matter how big or small.
I'll also spare my time to view others work and also try to socialise everyday. Whether it's with someone new, or someone close (face to face)
All these things will be done in my breaks from work.

Will also be bearing in mind that *I* come first and to not feel bad or cancel what i want to do for the sake of someone else. This is not selfish.
If i'm offered unexpected food, they *will* be accepted! But either shared or eaten in moderation like a meal would be.

If there's a binge, there is *no punishment* allowed. These are expected every now and again. But there is a thing called will power.

PS. if you'd like to maintain your weight, you need more calories. About 500 more.

Actually would be better to start right now, and buy all your fresh food today, but it's up to you of course

    im in
Currently I workout 6 days a week alternating strength and cardio sessions,
I love free weights if you use a low weight at high reps your muscles lean out and become defined instantly.

Il try with the food but I'm struggling with binging right now, mostly because I restrict on such a active workout programme and then end up binging at night when my blood sugars are at there lowest, and then OD on laxitives after purging because I feel so guilty.
Its a on going cycle so sticking to a programme with you might be all the motivation I need.

Oops I'm new so il introduce myself, hey I'm jemma I'm 24 live in nz, I'm just about to start studying a BHS after doing 6 years in the military :-)

Wish I could do this, but I live with parents and I reckon they'd freak out if I just binned all their food XD

Welcome! I'm happy you're willing to join me

The best thing to do is always eat after a work out, particularly protein; the food goes straight to the muscle.

If you're gonna binge at night, i'd recommend binging on fruit. This is what i did for a good while from accidentally (i think?) restricting all day with my studies and walking a lot throughout the day. It really did keep me going without feeling much guilt, much less guilt if it was anything else. All the fruit performed as a natural laxative too, i had a few close calls with making it to the toilet! I have a feeling that this might help you to come off the laxatives at least.

Haha oh dear! they would definitely go a bit ballistic at you! I guess for you it's going to be complete will-power at all times, and to always make sure fresh fruit and veg is in the fridge for you to grab hold of

    hey
ok so today woke up at 5am and ran 6km( mostly just at jogging pace), my heart rate monitor said i had a ave of 146 bpm and burned 747cals, was pretty happy with that

ate 1/2 banana and youghurt for breaky at 8am
was feeling good this morning , really motivated to stick into my work and get everything done, i normally leave my exercise for the evenings to distract myself from eating / binging.

11am - 2 egg whites and a HUGE coffee, no milk and splenda tabs
2pm - so sleepy had ANOTHER coffee and my cucumber salad with balsamic dressing, now i realise another reason why i exercise at night, im so shattered durring work its hard to get through the day
4pm just got home and seriously thinking about raiding the fudge my husband has in the fridge, iv made another coffee so i think il stick to your advice and try kick my sweet urge with fruit.
Also last night was the first time in a LONG time that havent used laxitives, cant say im feeing great in that sense but hopefully if i can slowly wein myself off them and come right.

Tonight i have bikram yoga, iv never tried it before im excited / nervous cause my friends who are mega fit and have no problem eating said they nearly faint in the 90min sauna so fingers crossed im tough enough

Iv got a amazing vege and ginger stir fry planned for when i get home, and im going to make sure i drink my low carb lo cal protein powder after yoga, im trying not to count my cals this week because i get to obsessed and start freaking myself out.
lets hope i can keep on the right track.

Just like Elzie i wish i could do something like this. I had an attempt past few weeks. Ended up in overeat most of times. Moderation is hardest thing of the world, i admire your strenght and courage.

Nice work jemjem! My face lit up this morning when i saw this post!
I know you're trying not to count calories, but make sure slightly in your head that you're getting enough. There's a chance of a binge tomorrow.
You earned yourself and extra 747 calories, so that's a good 1947 minimum in total for the day!

Thank you loads for the support ^____^ You *can* join in too! There may be times you overeat, but sometimes your body just needs it. Even when i try to control myself i still lose a bit of self control. It's all about never giving up

Try making your last meal of the day a large raw meal with lots of colours and some seeds!
