How long does it take for you to DIGEST a binge?
Curious how others stomachs cope. Are you in lots of pain after binging?
I had to keep binges in before, and I remember having a food baby for the next day, but not in my stomach. However it was always very painful and felt like all my abdominal organs were compressed. Plus I would get headaches.
But a few weeks ago I had a HUGE binge, and ended up throwing up 14 hours later, and the food wasn't even in little pieces yet, it was hardly digested at all and the liquid didn't even leave my stomach yet, I was experiencing INTENSE pain in the abdomen, headache, hazy vision, and breathing problems for the 14 hours before I vomited,
I think it was because it was carb heavy and I am not used to eating carbs. But either way it was weird how even after 14 hours my stomach still let it sit there, usually it is gone in 6 MAX.

If I have a big binge, it can take 6 hours for the stomach pain to subside and it can take 48hours before I feel "normal" again. Also, I often get bad headaches from the carbs.

I don't see the harm in KoH.'s advice; all she was saying seems to be "If you're going to binge on something, salad and fruit seems to be easier on the stomach.", really. It's pretty sound advice as far as I can see.
Everything is okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

Thank you!!
I was hoping it would have been taken this way as that's exactly the point i was trying to get across, if a binge is so hard to resist.
I didn't want to explain further as this user showed no sign of at least *trying* to take such a simple piece of advice to the road of recovery. Salad always kicks me back to my senses after a bad patch of binging and i was hoping when they try, they can get some kind of gist, but obviously they couldn't be bothered xx

Ew salad and fruit binge
that's too healthy hahahahhaa.
Errrm it really depends on what I eat tbh! If I binge on bread it's obv gonna take a lot longer to disolve. Though you'll find if you eat sugary things they dissolve quicker to turn into fat.Dissociative Identity Disorder

not really, my binges always start with salad or fruit. i just throught the way you worded your post was funny ecause I won't TRY to binge on anything, I'd rather try not to binge.. But yeah I find those things are easier to purge so whenever I binge or eat normal portions of tem I always end up throwing them up anyway.

So Im a Biology Major and ED never seems to make sense in the biological world. I have known people who binge including myself and on forums like this who say exactly what youve said and yes Ive experienced it too when I eat and later i purge and its not digested... what I can tell you is it takes 3 hours from when you stop eating for the acids in your stomach to begin secretion (so if you purge and do it within 3 hours of the binge its less likely to screw up your esophagus as bad). Now my theory is that we binge so much that not enough acid is created to break down everything and that is why crazy later we can purge and it not be digested.. my advice for that is to attempt to chew more.. i know when i binge i dont think about chewing i think about down the hatch and more more more... also it takes 12 hours to 48 hours for the digested (not when we ate) food to move though the intestines and actually exit our body... i hate this personally ... its gross so i use laxatives to speed up the process from time to time.. i like the chocolate chewables personally but what person with a binge issue wouldnt right? OHHH and if you want advice on why not to purge i recently learned that the second carbs touch your lips our salivia (which believe it or not is slightly acidic) begins to break down the carbs and absorb them.. so if you purge you can absorb carbs twice and still not have eaten them.. now that really sucks ( and makes me feel bad for the chew and spit people). Hope my post helped or amused you with what stupid stuff my major had taught and trained me about ed. Cant wait till my next nutrition course next semester.
