Heart Palpitations
So I have a genetic form of heart palpitations. They come and go (and of course never come when I'm getting my vitals taken or having an EKG :P) but I find they're a lot more frequent and noticable when I've been restricting. The "type" varies. Sometimes it feels like a flutter (extra beats) and sometimes a stagger (skipped beats). I researched and everything I found said they're nothing to worry about and my mom said my grandfather has them too, so I guess I got it from him. I guess I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on if I should talk to my doctor about it, if it could be a sign of a bigger problem, etc.

It's okay if it's from genetics. But if it's getting worse while you are restricting, it is a signal that your heart muscle is weakening. You need to get it checked out.
I have this from genetics, too. And it's always a LOT worse when I'm sick with my ED.
You can help it by decreasing exercise and increasing your intake as much as you can handle. Eat balanced meals and snacks, and drink your water! Electrolyte beverages/fppds might help too (such as orange juice, bananas,or sports drinks, you can use these as a snack)bemyfriend

What do you do when you become too scared, too scared to live, too scared to die, too scared to love, too scared to even care?
All you must do is breathe and take it one moment at a time. We are strong and deserve to find true happiness <3

what do you mean when you say you have a genetic condition which causes heart palpitation which doesn't show up on an ecg? as in, do you know what it is? is it K+ related? is it a conduction problem? - these are things you should discuss with a doctor; giving you medical advice with no understanding of you your medical background is irresponsible and dangerous.

I'm not an idiot. I wasn't going to substitute strangers for medical advice, I just wanted some opinions. I use the free clinic at my school so I won't even have an option to go in for a least a week as the term hasn't started yet. Plus, I've had these as long as I can remember and I haven't dropped dead yet.
And no, we don't know what it's from. I just know I have them and my mom said her dad does too. And they aren't all the time. They come and go, which is why they didn't show up on an EKG, as an EKG only runs for a couple of minutes and I've only had one done once.
