My hair. Please help.
So I had dropped from around 135 to 95 within maybe 2 months' time. This was a bit over a year ago. I lost a lot of hair from possibly malnourishment, but more so from extreme stress. The stresses I faced had caused me to scream and cry and break down randomly. Of course losing my hair only added to the stress. As well, the stress added to my hair loss.
Now I weigh a bold 140. Or around there. I plan on losing weight, and no one's words can convince me not to. My issue is this: my hair is still thin. Although now it is enough to brush and style etc, it's still not thick like when I was younger. OH! I should mention that I experienced hair loss before weight loss too!
Do u have any advice on thickening hair? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share anything you know!- foods/diet, care/treatment, etc.
Much appreciated, Rena

I'm not sure but my guess would be your hair loss is due to malnourishment. I'm not sure of your height but if you are overweight and lose weight in a healthy manner at a healthy pace, remaining nourished, I don't see how you are going to experience hair loss. Obviously if your going to stop eating and lose weight due to starvation then malnourishment is a consequence you may experience but I think you know all that so there's no point in delving into it.

you really should go see a doctor about this.your hair is falling out because your body is malnurished. You need to start eating healthy food, i know it's hard but you have to..I lost almost 50% of mine, they are dry , you can't really do much about it just try to eat and get some nutrients that your body needs Lots of protein like eggs and beans and nuts might help, also fish.
and hair products Revivogen& Nanogen are the best products you can really use to make your hair a little strongerLast edited by kittycat; 01-03-2012 at 02:50 PM.

this is going to sound silly but people swear by this horse shampoo called megatek. it's by the same people who created ovation cell therapy, but megatek is a lot cheaper. also, get suppliments of biotin, folic acid, and b-complex vitamins.

Your body needs more protein I bet! I mean, if you aren't eating enough obviously there are a lot of things your body needs that it's not getting, but I actually lost a decent amount of hair after being literally scared to eat anything with protein in it for several months. I thought the protein would make me gain weight so I stopped eating it completely.
My favorite treatment for myself is this: I take 4 raw eggs, save the whites and make a high protein lowcal mushroom omelet and eat that, and then I save the yolks for that night when I take a bath (you can mix in vanilla extract if you like a nice smell with it). I cover my head in the raw egg yolks, and even though it sounds gross, it FEELS AMAZING. AND it makes your hair sofffttttt. The only thing to worry about is that you will have to spend a bit of time combing out a few pieces of the whites out of your hair after you are done washing it out. Let it soak in for as long as possible to let the proteins and nutrients soak into your hair and scalp. :3 enjoyy!

Eating healthy fats (such as nuts, avocados, etc.) is absolutely essential for healthy hair. I know it can be seriously scary, but I promise you, it is good for so many things and it could really help your hair. I know it helped with mine, and with so many other things, too. Try to work some into your diet, and definitely see your doctor.
