Skipping
I just bought myself a skipping rope because I happened to see it in the pound shop.
Has anyone taken up skipping for exercise? If so, how effective did you feel it was?

i did the same last year, bought two ropes at the pound shop!
my room last year was massive so i had enough room to do it, and i did it regularly along with my run and i found it very effective.

I Bought one about a year ago. It has weighted handles. But I haven't used it yet cos the ceilings inside aren't high enough. And my neighbours are nosey as. So I don't have the guts to.
Will I ever get there?

definatly an awesome workout. I've used it before in the winter when I didn't really feel like running outside. super effective but high impact on my knees

I used to skip a couple years ago. I only did it for a few minutes at a time. But it burns a lot of calories and is really good for the heart. You can do less time skipping than jogging to burn the same amount of energy.
Just be safe, and if you do it at least 3x a week 10-20 minutes it can be really effective. It's fun, too!bemyfriend

What do you do when you become too scared, too scared to live, too scared to die, too scared to love, too scared to even care?
All you must do is breathe and take it one moment at a time. We are strong and deserve to find true happiness <3

jumping rope is a full body workout! it engages your arms, legs and core muscles and there are many variations. i just bought one a week ago because my old one went missing. it has already been said, but it's a better alternative than running in the cold! when I jump rope I vary the speed with the music I listen to to increase/decrease my heart rate for fat burn. it's like intervals if done correctly. happy hopping!
