    Default Healthy not-so-popular foods?

I am looking for something new to add to my meals, any ideas? Like something that once made you go "Whoa, it's tasty and healthy, why didn't I eat this before?"

tofu can be cooked, eat raw if you like (but if you like tasty things cook it, a good source of proteins)
Seitan (vegan-vegetarian stuff : no fat, almost no calories for what it is : 24 grams protein/100 gr!)
    Lupine beans, chickpeas.
Oat! oat is full of fibers, little protein, helps you digesting and assimilating vitamins, also a great natural laxative.
Hummus it has fat but it's a very healthy topping, you can do it yourself for a non-fat hummus or a more natural one.
    Guacamole!
You can also try to make your own vegetables soups, you can look at cook books, vegetables soups are made all over the world, but in different ways.
Sushi! sushi/makis.. they are very healthy and mostly cover all your nutritional needs (depending of what kind you eat, of course)
    Miso soup, it's delicious.
I recommend you to buy a electric steamer: it's very practical, fast, easy to clean, and if you don't wanna add oil to your dishes you may cook with this, you can cook almost everything, even eggs! (mine is from Braun, bought it in a supermarket and works brilliantly!)
Also, health tip : take whole foods, they are great for the body(better than other processed foods : wich have just calories and no nutritional things)
    I hope this helped <3
Be careful with your thoughts, they can start an action.

Thanks I have been vegetarian for a while so I am familiar with tofu and lentils and other veggies stuff but some of the names are new for me, so thanks, I will try these things!

And I am trying to make myself ok with fats as I am trying to recover and get my period back so it's ok if the food is not fat-free, I have to realize that I actually need fats... Though I often struggle to do so but whatever. Thanks again

I once tried hamburger, but you replace the meat with a patty of grilled black beans with a mix of spices and liquid smoke! It is really easy to do and it is absolutely delicious!!!!!

Grilled or baked tofu with herbs/spices.

Dessert tofu.(flavoured silken tofu) They come in a single pack of a variety of flavours.

Veggie lasagne made with cottage cheese, tomato sauce, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and WW noodles. Most people make lasagne very cheesy and full of meat, yuck!

Mixed bean, vegetables, and low fat shredded cheese in a WW tortilla = healthy burrito

Put a salad in a WW tortilla with low fat dressing or just mustard.

I love things with tortillas.. another good one is to spread some light strawberry cream cheese on one and slice up a banana on it and wrap it up! mhmm..

Rice made with 1/2 TB olive oil, with beans and mixed vegetables

I'm just naming stuff I think can be different to the average person and tastes good/is good for you.

Instead of new foods, learn new skills. Grow your own heirloom fruits and vegetables, make your own cheese and yogurt, experiment with fermentation, bake bread with an older relative, etc. I've been able to semi-recover by "putting myself in the food" as the counselor phrased, instead of relating through the opposite. In spite of the inspiration originating from a desperate period where I believed most foods were contaminated, I was able to eat fairly normal again.

If you'd like to incorporate more healthy fats, try mashing an avocado with tuna instead of mayonnaise, cook with coconut oil, eat olives in moderation, sprinkle flaxseed on everything, if you live near TJ Maxx try a bunch of discounted specialty oils like walnut and white truffle... Good luck with recovery!

I'm sorry, you said you were vegetarian. Ignore the part about tuna and eat more seeds.
