    Default Food with protein.

Hey, I just wanted to know what kind of healthy food I can eat that's low in fat that has protein?

It's my first day of eating healthy today and I want to stick to this. No more binging or fasting

You'll probably find that most protein-rich foods are fairly high in fat (although usually good fats) such as nuts, cheese, meat etc.

White meats are lower in fat and still high in protein, pulses are good and so are low-fat yoghurts/milk, cottage cheese?

Egg whites are fat free and a source of protein.

I rely on egg whites! you can have four egg whites (which is a lot, in quantity) for about 68 kcal, or 17 kcal per egg white. Per large egg white, there is .06g of fat and 3.6g of protein. I'm also devoted to scrambled hamburger with a little salt. If you buy the 96% lean, you can eat 4 oz (1/2 cup) for 130-150 kcal, and that has 24g of protein per 4 oz, and only 4g of fat. Grilled white meat, skinless chicken is also great.
    Hope I helped a bit

    Much love,
    xo

if i need some quick protein and i dont want to cook, i just open a can of turkey chunks.

i rinse them first because...the water they sit in kind of grosses me out, but yeah there is 24g of protein in one can for 120 cals. i usually just put half a can on a salad and save the other half for another meal.

boiled chick peas are really good with salt and pepper. i know theyre packed with protein and fiber but i cant remember how much i havent had them in a while. you can get them canned or you can boil them yourself. theres pros and cons to each though such as canned chickpeas have a lot of sodium, but theyre convenient. home-boiled chickpeas require a lot of time (soaking them overnight, boiling them foreEeeeeeEEeeever) but theyre better and you can control the texture like if you want them harder or softer.

lentils are GREAT. 50g uncooked, although it has 180 calories, it has 15g of fiber and 13g of protein. put em in soup or mix them with a bunch of veggies

whey protein powder. it's good when you've kind of run out of ideas and you need to eat some protein. the kind i have has 110cals and 24g of protein per scoop (29g). you can mix it with your milk to put in coffee or cereal or make smoothies and shakes..also if you bake healthy muffins and stuff you can throw some in there too and it gives your baked goods a boost.

    take care!

also, you want to eat some fats. like if the higher calorie content worries you, just eat less of it because you need the fats for your brain to function otherwise you get foggy and forgetful and find yourself standing in a room wondering why youre there and putting the milk in a cupboard instead of the fridge

Also, Quinoa is very high in protein. It's an ancient grain and you cook it like rice. I like making stir fries with it. I usually have it with sliced cherry tomatoes, cilantro, some pine nuts, and a drizzle of olive oil. It's very tasty.
