Green Tea
I've never had the stuff but I'm curious to try it.
Is it nice to drink?
Are there any health benefits to drinking it?

Green tea taste pretty good and it relaxes me. I hear it helps boost the metabolism up as well. I would "google" it and find out the health benefits. I'm sure there is plenty.
And I take back all the things I said
to make you feel like that
And I just wish that I didn't feel
like there was something I missed
And I take back all the things I said to you
And I give it all away
just to have somewhere to go to
Give it all away
to have someone to come home to

I actually detest the stuff! It supposedly speeds up the metabolism and burns 20kcals per mug, so I drank it obsessively every day for a few months and eventually gave up because I used to just dread it!
It's nice with some honey or something in, but then it seems pointless, since the honey has more calories in than the tea burns.
That's just me though, I know people who genuinely like it

Depends on the type of green tea - rich, vegetal Gyokuro and Sencha resembling grass clippings or Lipton's dust and fannings. Green tea is full of antioxidants, not particularly high in caffeine (technically, thiene), supports mental altertness, reduces disease causing potential in certain bad habits like smoking, mildly inhibits tumor initiation, helps prevent fat oxidation, and enhances insulin activity. Also helps naturally detoxify the body, especially after a cocktail too many. Adding lemon increases its benefits; bleached tea bags and refined sugars deplete them.
I really like tea but by some cruel twist of the universe am allergic to the high-end varieties. I have no other known allergies so this is rather bullshit. Green tea doesn't take well to being sweetened or heavily flavored. If you don't like the taste of plain leaves (and experiment, they're all different - I risk a swollen, itchy throat for an earthy mug of flat leaf Dragonwell) you can find decent blends at Teavana or Adagio Teas online. Or from full-leaf tea bags like Revolution Teas from supplement chains like The Vitamin Shoppe. Definitely worth skipping Bigelow and Triple Leaf for a good green. Sometimes cheap varieties like gunpowder (Moroccan Mint is a fantastic introductory flavor) or artificially flavored jasmine pearls can upset your stomach.Last edited by Lichen; 10-28-2011 at 02:55 PM.

I love green tea. It's my second favorite behind jasmine tea.
I didn't like the taste at all when I started drinking it some years ago (lack of sweeteners might have something to do with it), but I forced myself to drink it anyway for the supposed weight loss benefits. Eventually I got used to the taste and now I can't live without it.
Definitely try out different brands and flavors if you can. Try to avoid the little tea bags full of chimney sweep (tea that's so cut down it's barely even worth the effort) if you can help it. The quality isn't very good and the taste is mediocre. Though I know that depending on where you live and your accessibility to online shopping that may be the only option. Also, remember not to seep the tea for too long or you'll risk getting a bitter taste.

you might need getting used to it first.
3 cups a day will detox you.

I drink 5-6 cups a day and I love it. Helps with the digestive system, I don't know about weight loss - I haven't really noticed! but then I have been binging A LOT and not been putting any weight on, so maybe it does!
