So you want some advice????
Side Note: I am not always good with words and I can foresee that some of you are not going to like my word of choice by calling people "needy" but that is my best way of explaining/showing you all how others can take what is going on. I am in no way calling ANYONE needy but rather saying thats how you can come off.
Over the last few weeks I have seen a lot of people spamming the crap out of there threads. (as in posting them in EVERY FORUM)
Here's the thing, if you really want help and you want useful help and to not get repeats of info only post it where it makes the most sense.
By posting the same thread all over you are not only making yourself look very needy but you are making other people look like there stuff doesn't matter because you have to post in all the forums. It isn't cool and it isn't nice.
Your also making more work for MODS and Ritesh to do because they will get reported and then they have to go and delete them. Also with deleting them if your not on the site 24/7 you might miss out on a great reply because you got too needy and couldn't wait for replies in one place.
If you want more people to read something there are a few things you can do.....
1. Post in one place.
2. Depending on day and time it can take up to 4 hours to get a reply. (So post during high traffic times. So I know for me and my time zone it is around 8am-10am and 4pm-9pm PST)
3. Post it in your blog for those people who don't like the forum but still can offer good advice.
4. If you really need more replies you can "BUMP" your post up but only do it every 6 hours or so to still be respectful of others looking for support on there threads.
5. Use the chat..... ask people in the chat if they wouldn't mind looking at your thread.
Does anyone have any other ways to help someone get some replies??
And or what is your thoughts on this???

I think it's a cry for attention. Admittedly I'm at work during the day so I don't post when I'm at work but if I see the same thread in 3 different forums, I tend to not bother reading it. I'm finding that the threads that find themselves in several forums are usually (not always) stupid threads that tap into Pro-ED waters.

I don't have anything to add to this for ideas and the like, but I will say that I fully agree with you.
I also tend to ignore the multiple postings, though it doesn't make them any less annoying. I realize that sometimes things that one may post could fit in a slew of places on the forum, but as you said, find the most appropriate place and just leave it there. Sometimes it takes around a full day before there's a reply due to new members dredging up old as shit posts or even Veteran members making completely pointless posts because they're high as fuck and want to remind everyone that they'll be here to annoy the fuck out of us. haha.
The sad part is that most of the guilty members of any of this aren't going to read this, as they probably didn't read the rules and TOS anyway.

A lot of people use the 'daily post' button to view all the newest posts of the day in order of the newest to be replied to, so to use that button and automatically see the same post in 3+ forums makes me not want to click on it at all. I get that some forums receive a bit more attention, but the regular members do and will get to all the forums, not just the general, Anorexia, and Bulimia forums.
I also get the urgency of needing advice sometimes, but in that case I agree with going onto chat, and find a member whose posts you've seen and agreed with, and ask your question on chat! If it's for genuine advice, you are likely not going to be ignored.Every man dies. Not every man really lives.

No, that's the great part Steph! I tend to lean more towards using the links rather than trying to explain to members what all the fuck they're doing wrong. lol. It's great to have this on here, and I think it could actually use a sticky should more people speak up about all of it.

I also agree with you, Girlinterrupted. When I post something, I try to post in the morning (my time) and hopefully by the late afternoon I get some answers. I didn't think of posting my concerns in the blog area, so good advice on that one. Awesome post and thanks for taking the time to write this in hopes of getting others attention to post in the right areas.
And I take back all the things I said
to make you feel like that
And I just wish that I didn't feel
like there was something I missed
And I take back all the things I said to you
And I give it all away
just to have somewhere to go to
Give it all away
to have someone to come home to
