Default Can I burn muscles? big legs issue:/

My beautician told me yesterday that it is going to be hard to reduce my legs because of my big muscles.

I am running and walking, eating very little and having beauty treatments 4 times a week.

I am aiming for skinny legs so if she is right is there anything I could do to make my legs smaller?

    thank you in advance!

It's the exercise that's causing e muscle gain. Don't exercise and they won't grow. Simple really.

pilates--especially on a reformer--and yoga will help. try to stick to exercises that will not cause bulky gain but long, toned muscle groups.

Jackalope altho banned, gave the right advice here. Low calories, and low protein intake will gradually reduce overall body mass, muscle included since your at a protein defficient.

I have just researched this as I have big muscular legs (dance and track) and felt that as my mom said I would/could never be thin. No matter how skinny my upper half gets, I still look fat because of my huge legs. However, I have still researched this and found that yes, you can lose muscle. Look at cross country runners v short distance sprinters such as myself. Marathon-like workouts will cause your body to burn muscle for fuel. What you need to do is lay off of any exercises that specifically works your legs i.e. stairs, anything inclined, squats, hiking, biking, spinning etc. You need to run or do an elliptical w no incline and very low resistance for 45-60 mins at a good challenging pace. You also need to lay off the protein. This helps rebuild muscles after workouts that have damaged ur muscles. If you are not feeding them they cannot grow. Also most trainers will telly you to eat protein/carbs right after a workout...DONT! this is meant to aid rebuilding....wait at LEAST 1hr-2hrs if you can make it. Also deep stretching (Pilates/yoga) will help to lengthen and elongate your muscles to help them appear longer and slimmer. Hopes this helps!
