it's true psychopaths exist. i've had to met some in my life and i'd rather not get near any one of those "people" again...
they're not really alive. they feel nothing. nothing, no remorse, no empathy. empathy is just an act, a mask for them. other people mean nothing. it's a fucking serious topic! (excuse my swearing)

and it has nothing to do with other disorders and everyone's a little bit narcissistic and us on the forum are probably a lot more than a little bit narcissistic or self-obsessed, but that's not the same as a psychopath, totally different level..

Psychopaths aren't the people you just know! duh.. when you see signs in others you can tell what they are. They don't need to be born psychopaths.. in some family line... psychopathy is triggered in their kids while they are very young! i am not exactly sure how they do it, but they seem to have figured out how to trigger it in kids through trauma. Doesn't mean these kids are actual psychopaths but they have been thought that and they will follow it till they either overcome it or die. They are just a copy of the original psychopaths! which they seem to like cause they feel more comfortable amount their own kind so to speak.

also... yeah you have mentioned the parents thing before. and it's total bullshit if you ask me. it's like you're saying you can raise your kid to become a psychopath? i don't think so. like you can't raise your kid to become schizophrenic either. same goes for eating disorders btw. you can't raise your kid to become anorexic. and neither can the media etc.
anyway. all this doesn't make it less insulting. seriously... you can't just go around and claim that other people are psychopaths/mentally ill.

a friend of mine is a psychopath. I have no idea if he considers me a friend of his, I'm still learning how his mind works, but I mostly enjoy his company. he's the brother of someone that I used to work with a while back. he inherited a decent amount of money, so he doesn't work at all, and he spends most of his time studying alone even though he graduated college years ago. he's a very manipulative person and a big fan of playing mind games, and has absolutely no conscience. so I'm always extra careful around him. but all of his "superficial charm" makes him very easy to talk to, and he always has some interesting fact to talk about or some crazy story to tell. I always feel like he's studying me, but I'm okay with it since I guess I hang around him because I'm studying him in return.

we usually just play chess.

I randomly clicked on the "The Psychopath Test" video in one of the replies to this thread, and started to feel like I'd heard it before....but I knew I'd never seen the video.

Finally, at minute 3, or so - I realized that the format was just out of context for my brain. It's true, I'd never seen this video, but Mr. Ronson's story was included on an radio episode of This American Life sometime last year. It includes two (or three?) other psychopath-related segments in addition to Mr. Ronson's. For anyone interested, you can Google "The Psychopath Test This American Life" to hear the whole program.

how can i tell if i'm a psychopath? i live in newport so i'm kind used to living around these kind of people and don't care much but i don't know how far up i am on the insane scale. some say i am and i just don't know it as crazy people don't know they're crazy but i don't know if they're yanking my chain or i'm literally a psychopath..
i get a bit narcissistic sometimes and have crazy mood swings and my ex and mum were certain i had some kind of split personality disorder but they're crazy people themselves, who do i believe.
my mates love me for being a bit weird but i don't see how i'm weird in any way which leads me back to thinking that crazy people don't know they're crazy oh shit what if i'm a psychopath?! EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM ME I THINK I'M DANGEROUS!
