I've have little OCD things ever since I was like 5 years old. Like I couldn't walk on grass till I was 11. couldn't walk on any lines (that's a pretty normal one though) and I had this other one whre I used to think that if I stepped on slabs of concrete an odd number of times it would turn red and if I stepped on it an even amount of times it would be blue. My goal was to naturally turn everything red wihtout double stepping and stuff. And you gotta remeber that this is when I was 12 and under...so yehahhh... I'm a crazy fuck
*sigh* lets see then
1. everything come in 3s
2. to get out of a door I have to tap the door 3 times tap the lock 3 times tap the door handle 3 times
then I can open the door
then I have to tap left side of the doorframe the top then the right
then I have to do this annoying in order 27 foot tap thing
3. For some reason I can't sleep in my bed anymore, I have to sleep on the floor
pillows or anything to sleep on is out of the question too.
I guess my brain though my spine wasn't fucked up enough from my ED
4.i can only pick up the phone if its rung 3 times, any more than that and I can't pick it up
(which is why I usually always have the phone next to me...but it's a wireless so that it constantly runs out of batt
5,I have to tap shit 3 times before I thouch it (you have no idea how much this one fucks with me.
6. I have to wear my first noose round my neck all the time otherwise I feel faint and can't properly, it's like it makes me feel safe or something.
7. Weird counting things. ex; if I'm say stacking wood I have to count each bit and stuff. And yep you guessed it if I loose count I gotta start all over again. I dont usually loose count any more.
8.theres 6 other things I'd rather not get into, may be triggering for some or something... I dunno
9.But yeah and if I fail to do these things, like if I'm angry and just walk through a doorway I have punch myslf in the head 3 times.
And yes I had to add one of the OCD things I didn't want to because my OCD wanted 9 items on the list not 8.
*shiver* *8*
Don't you just love fucking OCD bullshit ><Last edited by metalmaniac333; 01-16-2012 at 11:22 AM.

I do this all the time! Can spend hours at it too, thought I was the only one! and I have an annoying habit of picking spots like moles and things. Really annoying at the moment as its on my face!
I have also sat there and plucked out strands of hair in the past until I got a bald patch at the front of my head and it became really embarrassing.
I came on this section of the forum as my husband has OCD and I was just curious, now I feel like maybe I have a form of it myself
Oh well add that to the list!! seems to be ever growing at the moment

I do this too! I have never heard anyone else describe it before. I see a keyboard in my head and I will move my fingers to type out random words. The words don't mean anything, they just pop into my head. Often it's names of people or places or interesting words I hear. It's never really bothered me, I just feel a need to type the word, and I type it.

I list everything. What I eat, what I need to do...EVERYTHING.
I have to brush my teeth until they hurt so I know that they are clean.
Everything has to be color coordinated. My clothes are. And I hate when my teacher writes on the board and switches Expo markers.
I have to ALWAYS shower at nights, or I have a hard time falling asleep
-
-Everything must be in fives (It's my 'lucky' number...the irony.)
-Things are always better in box packaging, and I will organise them for hours. (Like food in boxes or card cartons. Then in the middle of the night, if I can think of a better way to organise them...I do.
)
-People leaning on the backs of chairs or seats (I don't have to be near them, if I just see it it makes me nervous.)
-I have to look in my closet every time I enter the room in case something is in there. What would be in there, I don't quite know.
-Locking/Unlocking doors constantly.
And there are five habits. Back to number one, I guess!

-Numbers: Fives. It's driving me insane. My steps while walking always have to be in fives, or if I have to go the bathroom, I can't get up until the clock shows a number than ends in a 0 or 5. The number of bites I take, the number of times I chew, and so on and so forth with every little thing. 5 5 5 5 5 < See I had to type that five times. :P
That's pretty much the most annoying thing.5'6

I have to get in bed, get back out and go to the loo, get back in and put cream on my hands and feet, take my tablets, lay down, sit back up, sip water then lay back down and go to sleep.
I have to do things evenly so if I cross my arms one way I then have to do it the other way too etc.
I also tap patterns out on myself, they start like this . . .
. . .
. . .
Then I join all the dots together with lines and add more dots and go over it a certain number of times. The pattern has to be symmetrical, even and each part has to have been gone over the same amount of times and I can't move till I've completed it.
Oh and closing my eyes when certain adverts come on because I've decided I mustn't see any of it. I also have to close my eyes until my straighteners stop flashing while they're heating up. I mustn't open my eyes until I'm sure that the ads finished or the straighteners have stopped flashing.
X
Oh and if I highlight something it has to be a perfect box. I don't like yellow paper and I subconsciously pick at my face even when I'm talking to someone.Last edited by xXxXx; 01-26-2012 at 02:33 PM.

So many things.
The never stepping on a crack or line, even though, after all this time, Mom has never broken her back or spine.
Praying, even though I do not believe in ANYTHING.
The chewing on alternate sides of my mouth thing.
The counting.
The numbers.
The checking, checking, checking.
The refusing to have a sexual fantasy about anything that could be real because I think I'm going to jinx it. MY SEX LIFE IS JINXED ANYWAY, IT DOESN'T MATTER!
Yeah. I hate OCD. I wish I was anyone else but me sometimes.

Anything to do with symmetry...driving over the same number of sewer lids with both sides of the car (makes me a menace on the road), stepping on cement blocks on the ground evenly, if I have an itch, I have to scratch both sides.
Don't even get me started on multi-colored floor tiles. The bane of my existence.
