Thanks for this! I was seriously considering calling and canceling my appointment I have coming up. After reading this, I think I will at least give it a try. I don't want to go back to where I was before, but I definitely don't want to get buried (literally or figuratively).

i know you posted this a longass time ago, but i hope that your appointment went well and that youre working on recovery now...
"Man has a body which is at once his burden and his temptation. He drags it along, and yields to it. He ought to watch over it, to keep it in bounds; to repress it, and to obey it only at the last extremity. It may be wrong to obey even then..."

I understand how you feel. From all my attempts(my left shoulder and both my legs still pop out to this day) and my SH and 7 year of eds has defiantly left its mark. I feel guilty for eating ONE APPLE! And not one of those 80c ones too.

I've been in recovery for three years now but I'm still suffering the consequences of the 10 years + in which I was wrapped up in one form of an ED or another. I have chronic headaches, heart arrhythmia's, problems with my bones and joints... the list goes on. The worst for me though are the problems I have with my bowels from years of laxative abuse. The only way I found to reintroduce any form of normalcy to my ability to poo was to have colonic irrigation therapy. That went on once a week for a year before my bowels began to work again by themselves. It was pretty awful. Even now I have to go back every few months and the pain can be excruciating. I'm terrified that due to my body not eliminating toxins properly I will end up with bowel cancer.
