I was just wondering. Also, has anyone ever completed all 50 days? If not, what's the furthest you've gone? Does it actually work? But don't you gain the weight back after you start eating a bit more?

Who Invented the ABC diet? How did it get started?
I think it was just some ordinary girl with an ED...
I don't think ABC is anything special, it's just a restriction diet with calories randomly set for 50 days, nothing scientific.
In fact, anyone who goes on a restriction diet, with a different calorie count for each day does exactly the same.

me either, it's just one of those silly ones that tries to trick the metabolism, like 2-4-6-8. i can't see doing fifty days of it though.
I think it was a totally random idea that became a big thing because some people like to follow a plan. They like to be held accountable to a certain limit, and like the idea of this magic diet that will make them lose 40 pounds in 50 days.

I think a much better plan is to use a calculator to see how many calories you need. Since I'm a little paranoid about how accurate these online calculators, I usually just calculate mine by hand. I use the St. Mifflin Jeor formula (most accurate forumla to calculate calorie needs). So for me for example, to maintain my weight, I have to eat 1749 and to lose 2 lbs a week I have to eat 749. I'd rather do something that is science based and accurate.
