Hey all, my very first post!

Basically I am FED UP with having the blobbiest stomach and hips EVER. I have skinny legs, nice bum, arms that tone easily but i feel physically sick everytime I look at my stomach waist and hips. The main reason...I am HOPELESSLY ADDICTED TO CARBS! Like my diet in all other aspects is pretty damn good (apart from a few mad alcoholic nights out now and then) but as soon as I touch cereal, bread anc chocolate it all goes bang out the window. I can binge and binge and binge...I just cant live without them!

Now Lents coming up and I am DETERMINED to go cold turkey and completely give up bread, all cereals and chocolate.

Is anyone else similar to me? How do you cope when the cravings just wont go away????

My modified PSMF diet pretty much called for me to stop "cold turkey" on carbs in order to enter ketosis ASAP. Let me just say, it was VERY hard. Honestly, I do not recommend doing it. Every time I do something "cold turkey" it is always destined for failure.. :(

Perhaps ease your carbs down slowly until you get to where you want to be?

Just find easy replacements. Pasta can be made with a certain type of squash.
Or try and make healthier choices when you do chose to eat carbs, e.g. gluten free breads.

Carbs aren't terrible, you just need to make sure they are complex carbs. I know it doesn't really help with the cravings, it's just a mental thing that WILL pass once you learn to ignore it.

I did have the same thing and I'm still tenpted back to carbs, but you just got to tell yourself no!

I agree whole heartedly. It's almost impossible. It IS a physical addiction and the less you give yourself the more your body will scream for it. Like caffeine or smoking or any other addiction, goign slow is usually the most effective (hence the nicotine patches, gum, etc.)
BUT if you DO manage, you'll be done for good. But it might take a solid 3 months of no carbs to do it...
