View Full Version : Protein?
So I know a major necessity to staying healthy is eating protein, any advice for what to eat that won't make you fat? nuts or protein water maybe? I'm looking for something that's 200 calories at most. :D

quite a lot of nuts are very fattening so i would avoid that one. i go for fish. like salmon's good, i don't like it so i don't have the urge to eat loads! and i know it's doing the world of good for my body and skin.
hope that helps x

Protein's definitely important; when I was restricting the most, I lost a lot of my muscle, so my nutritionist wanted me to be eating ~80g a day.
I recommend yogurt, especially plain non-fat. The flavored ones taste better, but be careful because they have a LOT more calories. I have low-fat plain in my fridge right now. 1 C has 140 cals and 12g protein. Adding fruit or cereal makes it taste better, but granola's really fatty.
Veggie patties are also good, MorningStar's average around 100 cals and have I think 8+g protein.
Hope this helps :)

I eat the packs or tins of Tuna or salmon in water--they are 90cals for the whole thing. Even better protein comes from egg whites--the white part only is 17 cals.
I'm really a vegan so I have a hard time eating enough protein, but when I'm really deprived, I'll eat an egg white or tuna--only becuase nuts are so fattening.
I don't know about you but when I'm restricting, I have trouble facing a single food item that's over 100cals.
