Sex Pistols, Clash, The slits from punk in its original form, and then some later bands which some purist probably has a different name for..but they sure sound punk to me, like the Distillers and Black Flag. I went through a mad punk phase when I was about 16 (the music, more than the look or the lifestyle), I'm a bit mellower now but those five bands are still solid favourites

I guess I'm not really MASSIVELY into punk, more the offshoots from punk, more experimental avant garde music which is, in essence and attitude, about as punk as it gets. I love Nina Hagen, Klaus Nomi, Divine, Bauhaus, Siouxsie, The Cramps, Soft Cell, Nick Cave, Strawberry Switchblade, Depeche Mode, Danielle Dax etc etc. I love 'tacky' attitude filled pop punk/synthpop stuff like Dead or Alive. Also, my absolute hero and favourite musical artist is the divine Diamanda Galas.

And when it comes to 'pure punk', I like the Damned, the New York Dolls, Iggy, Wayne/Jayne County and Patti Smith
