I just bought a treadmill and I used it for a few minutes. I just wanted to ask if anyone here has found treadmills useful in losing weight? Also, what kind of stretches are best to keep from getting too sore? Thank you for any help.

yep treadmill is the best in my opinion!
Personally, on the stretching front, I'd go for pilates all the way. It will build you up slowly. It's kinda hard not to get sore if you're doing stretches. If it's not sore afterwards, it's probably not doing anything.
If it's really sore like so painful you can't move without flinching, then you're probably doing too many, or you haven't built yourself up enough.
Do a DVD or go to a class to start with is my advice to you.
