does anyone here gets dizzu on the shower DAILY. I mean, even if I fast or eat 1000 calories, I am ALWAYS so dizzy at the shower i actually have to sit on the floor! *_* everyday. it's probably the hot water but still... and i don't have low blood pressure, i actually had problems before with high bp.

when do you take your shower? do you eat before? If you take it in the morning before anything else it's probably because you naturally have low blood sugar. (cuz you technically fasted for 12 hours) try having a fruit a few minutes before.
I get dizzy taking showers in the morning too. I take them at night now.

Otherwise, I am stumped.

Some people are real sensitive to the chlorine fumes in the shower. If so, you could get a filter on the shower head.

My ED makes me dizzy, achey & oh so weak in the shower, I am always sitting in the shower tray with the shower head as low as possible, I thought I was weird that way but I guess i'm not alone :). x

I get the same way. Maybe its because it is so hot in there ?

i think it is the heat because when i am in a hot tub it makes my heart rate go wayyy up so that might have something to do with it..

i just checked and i already have a filter, so it's not chlorine fumes... but thanks i wouldnt think about it.

and yeah, its normally in the morning... but sometimes i shower at night and it happens... but maybe in the days i shower at night i had too little calories? because i tend to throw myself under the shower just to spend time and avoid food...

i'm guessing is low blood pressure. i will watch it better and see what i'm doing wrong. thanks everyone.

the heat and warm water causes your blood vessels to vasodilate and can cause a sharp drop in bp, esp. if you are already dehydrated from restricting and/or purging. when you start to feel this way, get OUT of the shower. you can even pass out when you are sitting down in the shower and, yes, you CAN drown in an inch of water.

be safe.

that exact thing happens to me too, i figured it was the hot steam from the shower, shortening my breath or something

Did you drink anything before going into the shower?

If not, then a glass of water might help.

i've been watching it and it is low blood pressure. Sitting down keeps me from passing out (it happened to me more than 10 times, i'd wake up after 5 min or so)...
I am also leaving the door and the window opened (i live with my sister so no problem) and putting salt under my tongue when i feel worse...

I have a fear of showers now because of dizzy / black out spells. I take a shower at night time and end up having a panic attack..
I think it is the hot steam that lowers your bp.

Even before I was actively engaged in my ED I used to get dizzy in the shower so I started showering with the window open. Now I don't have a shower anymore so I take baths instead, but I always have to make sure the door is open since I don't have a window in my bathroom otherwise I will pass out.

i get very dizzy. And I almost always pass out, or have to hold on to the wasll so I don’t…
I think it’s the steam, the heat, the weakness, and blood pressure.
That’s just what I think.

this happens to me, but it's always because i'm so cold. I turn the water way too hot and it makes me lightheaded even though I can't really feel how hot it is.

Wow, I thought this was just me. I've never been sure what caused this. Thanks for posting this thread. :)

Sometimes my heart just starts racing at more than 100 bpm, then I can't breathe and have to stick my head out the shower door to avoid the feeling of dizziness & suffocation. Does anyone else feel suffocated in there? Oh and I shower at night usually, if it makes any difference.

Thanks for this thread. This has happened to me often. I usually stick my head out of the shower for a deep breath or step out for a minute, but sometimes I just try to shower really fast so I'm done before I pass out. I love really hot showers. Maybe I should switch to lukewarm ones?

This has happened to me on and off for the last 20 years. I now shower with the bathroon door wide open.

This is what my friend in nursing school told me. It's ALWAYS happened to me. Especially if I haven't eaten or shower in the morning. I've never passed out but if it happens again I guess I'll turn the water off just in case! I don't wanna die naked in the shower. lol.

I also get nauseous. I'm not sure why that is.

I've always assumed it was my blood pressure too. Mine is naturally low. The cool air coming in from leaving the door open seems to help me a lot, though it's weird when I have guests.

This happens to me too! When I am in the bath I get dizzy as well, and I have woken up countless times underwater- might I be blacking out and not just falling asleep?

I am pretty scared that I might drown by accident.

Recently I've been having this problem, as soon as I get in my time is limited to about 5 minutes before the world starts spinning and I make myself get out. Then I always lay on the floor of my bathroom for about half an hour. I'm sure that if I continued with the shower that I would end up drowing. o.O
