doea anybody believe in ghosts?? not like in ur head or anything..
my nan admitted it to me 2day that even she thinks our house is haunted.. i knew it :S she thinks it's all of the upstairs rooms, including the bathroom,, :S
i'm not happy about this tho cuz when it was jus me i could blame it on me, but now if something happens i can't blame it on me :S do u know what i mean?? lol..
i'm so freaked out now :S she said when she's on her own in the house she feels like somebody is upstairs,, she's heard walking too. i've even heard that but i don;t know what it is i can;t explain it, now if i hear that i'm running away.. lol seriously. i'm not looking forward to be on my own in the house now :(
omg i hate ghosts :(
i didn;t know where to post this..
Don't worry, there are no such things as ghosts. You're probably hearing the wind, or the wood creaking because it expands and contracts depending on the temperature and humidity (which is especially true for older houses).
It's natural to assume there might be another presence there, but in actuality that is almost never the case.

lol :) tnx for replying. it's ok to be skeptical, i've learnt that from another forum, but some of the things that've happened is def not jus cuz it's a old house. but i also know that what ur saying is true to most ghostly experiences..
my fam go out an leave me alone in the house quite often, my sisters have their own lives too so they're out most of the time. but that gives me a lot of time to myself.. so most of the time i'm online or listening to music an things, some of the time i have to b&p an i spend a lot of time in the bathroom after, an it's when i'm in there i have such weird experiences. i've heard a knock on the bathroom door :S but i didn't say anything cuz i jus froze an i didn;t move for about 10 minits :S i rly do think something is there sometimes..
but i hope ur rite anyway lol

I always believe things before its proven other wise, :D i would agree with what CDG said though, but it all depends on where you live. I live in california, so i know that its about a 50/50 chance for me :D plus ive experienced an odd occasion.

I grew up in haunted houses and had several experiences. It's part of the reason why I'm interested in the paranormal these days. Hauntings can be scary but if nothing serious has happened to you yet, it probably won't ever get serious. The majority of hauntings are what theorists call "residual". That means there's no intelligence behind it so it's not trying to scare you or interact with you. It's basically like a video tape being played over and over at certain times.
If it get's really scary though, try to get it on video, that always seems to make it stop because rarely can anyone seem to catch these phenomena on tape. They're camera shy.
Camera shy or non-existent? I'd guess the latter; I'm a complete sceptic when it comes to things that have absolutely no evidence backing them up. If you hear a noise, try to take it at face value and think of realistic reasons why you would hear it, rather than jumping to conclusions based upon stories you've heard or movies you've seen :)

I would be happy to share some of my experiences. I'll start with the earliest and probably most frightening.
When I was 6 years old, my parents loved to make me go to bed at exactly 8:00 every night and it drove me crazy because I was never sleepy then. Plus, it was always pitch black in my bedroom at night and the little night light I had just seemed to make it even darker by comparison to its own glow. One night they made me go to bed at 8:00 like usual but they didn't come to tuck me in so I left my door open to let in light from the bathroom and hallway. I had not been laying there for more than a few minutes when a huge shape of a dog just walked right into my room without a sound and blended into the darkness. It was a massive, great dane sized, black shape, that looked just like a dog. I know some people can have nightmares, or strange halucinations when they're just about to fall asleep. But I was wide awake the entire time and was instantly horrified. I could feel it still in the room, watching me, somewhere in the black dark. I jumped from my bed to the doorway without touching floor and took off down the stairs. My parents were not happy to see me, as they were trying to entertain a couple of their friends when I came down in my underwear, and of course would not believe me when I told them there was a black dog in my room. They assumed I was either lying to get out of going to bed early or had just had a nightmare. I refused to go back upstairs by myself though, even when threatened with a spanking. So my mother had to take me up and she turned on the lights to show me there was nothing in my room. The shape had vanished, but I know what I saw. I've had halucinations later in life and none of them were like this. I was wide awake, cogent, and as sober as you would expect a healthy child to be. I am 100% certain what I saw was real. That night, after my parents went to bed, I got out of bed and sat on the hallway floor in the shaft of light coming out of the bathroom, because I was too scared to stay in my room. I slept in the hallway every night after that for months. I remember the floor being cold, and feeling very alone, staring at my parents door that was always closed. I had so many nightmares regularly in that house that stopped as soon as we moved out. My mother began seeing things too while we were there, but that's about when she started becoming schizophrenic too and so everyone assumed it was because of that. But she didn't see things in the other places we lived.
I would have two more encounters with the black dog at much later years in my life at two different places.
I've not had any unusual experiences since I was about 18. But seeing the black dog for the first time was my first experience. If I ever find myself in a haunted house again, I'm going to set up redundant video cameras to capture it and show it to others.
