truth and beauty are wonderful words, but shrapnel is shrapnel
Okay, quick introduction! I'm here under the pseudonym Elle and I'm sixteen, living in Oxford, England. Sufferer since '07 and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (NOT the kind you get from being fat and old!) since February '09 - my new condition causes all sorts of annoying complications, now. In June '09, in an unforgivable betrayal of trust, my mother read my diary and sent me to an eating disorder counsellor psych guy called Duncan every two weeks for a few months but I stopped seeing him because of my refusal to talk to him about anything to do with my disorder. Even making this WhyEat account has been a big step for me since I've not been able to write properly since my mum read my diary. I just need somewhere to document my journey as I have a feeling this year is going to be a total roller-coaster and I'm likely to need all the support I can get. Before I had to start injecting insulin I weighed about 110lbs. Then, I shot up to 128lbs. That's a massive 18lbs! In about two months! I intend on loosing it (and more) before September. That really is my deadline - I daredn't start sixth form looking like this! So, yeah. This is me! Feel free to post, I've only just joined this community and it seems wonderful! Hopefully I can be here to support you lot, too (: I'll try my best. Stay strong!
