im struggling, i cant eat cereal cause it hurts my tummy, but as im trying to make breakfast my most unhealthy meal of the day (to keep me going) i don't know what to have.
toast is killing my calorie allowance, and is bad for you, and makes you hungrier quicker...
any ideas anyone??

Toast is okay, as long as you onlt have one piece of bread a day.
Meal 1:
Toast - 95 cals (my bread is anyway)
Egg white - 15 cals
Spray oil - 10 cals
Total: 120 cals
Meal 2:
Hard boiled egg - 80 cals
Soft boiled egg - 85 cals
Total: between 70 - 90, depending on egg size and method of cooking (you can scrape out the yolk and the hard boiled white will only be 15 cals, so you can have a number of them)
Meal 3:
100g fresh fruit salad - 100 cals
Total: Approx 100 cals, depending on variety and type of fruit used
Don't make breakfast the most 'unhealthy', make it one with the most sustinance. Eggs have a good balance of nutrients to keep you full, and fruits provide carbs for energy.

yeah egg white are good because they're rich in protein!! the yolks are just made up of cholesterol (which is v bad).
toast can be okay, moderately, though I don't eat it. If you do, have wholegrain! In general- if you HAVE to have carbs, go for the wholegrain stuff.
E.g.:
white rice --> brown/wild rice
white bread --> brown/wholegrain bread
spaghetti, pastas, noodles --> wholegrain/brown varieties
They will keep you fuller for longer, have more protein (YAY) and all kinds of good stuff.
My personal favourite is oatmeal (Quakers' original) It really is amazing stuff. 1 tbsp (2 kcal) of substitute sweetener and you're sorted!!
Anyway, hope this helps :) x

Yeah^^^^
You gotta watch some wholegrains though, some manufacturers put in brown dyes to make it look like the food is wholemeal.
And some things with whole grains and seeds may have more cals, but are nutritionally so much better for you that it's absolutely worth it.

Yeah that's a good point- make sure you read the labels to make sure it actually IS wholegrain too, not just "made with wholegrains" which is a bit bs really :P
So I go for brown breads with seeds and stuff.. lots of nutrients and keeps you full, mmhmm :)

one question about the egg whites tho, my mum sed that its the yolk which has all the protein and keeps you full...
anyone can confirm??

I'm afraid your mum is incorrect. The egg yolk has the highest amount of cholesterol (it is basically pure cholesterol) of food- needed for the baby chick! It's like 70 calories. The egg white is the protein - also needed for the baby chick. Hence the German word for "protein" is in fact "Eiweiss" which is "eggwhite" in German :] Eating the egg white only will give you all the nutrients you need... in this day and age the yolk is unnecessary. Perhaps collect the egg yolks you don't use in a bowl for your family to make omelette or fried rice or cakes or something? That's what I try to do :]
Of course, to keep the calories to a minimum, don't fry it: poach or boil...
Hope this helps!

and whats the difference how you cook it? like i know that say grilled chicken is better than fried, but why? is it mainly the oils you use??

It's just due to the methods of preparation. Something fried is typically covered in oils or butters or ghee or other fats before cooking, whereas grilling allows chicken to cook in its own juices as opposed to other flavours.
I tend to cook things under the griller in the oven (like a chicken sausage), so I don't have to put oil in a pan to cook with. Tastes exactly the same, just without the need for oils.

Yeah like vision_thing said, it's simply because frying = adding fat!! (unless you use those 1kcal per spray oils) but you might as well grill or bake. Much healthier!
@emotionaleater: Yeah I need money for lessons! I play an orchestra at college atm which keeps my fingers ticking over but I haven't practised in ages... for obvious reasons I tend to prioritise exercise and calorie burning now... :]
