Hey everyone! So lately I've decided to fast. It's been going alright, but to me it feels a lot different than just eating a small portion of food. Are there certain side effects that I should be aware of while gradually beginning to fast? Also, should I do anything that would help these side effects?

It depends what kind of fast you are doing. If it's just water, you will lose a lot of weight, but you can expect a lot of nasty detox symptoms like headache, nausea, aches, pains, cold and flu symptoms, nasty breath, etc. If you're doing juice or soup, the weight loss is decent but you won't get such drastic results and you also won't feel as sick at the beginning.

Thanks.. I think I'll start with the juice and soup and then slowly go to a water fast.

Thanks! Unfortunately I had to learn that one myself. I'm currently in the last weeks of school. So I'm running around all day with nothing on my stomach. The headache and dizziness is a constant!! But it's easier to deal with, especially if I take some pills before it really begins acting up.

Be careful! It's a very good idea to wean yourself off of food before a fast... And don't be afraid to end the fast before planned if your health is in jeopardy! I recently had to end one because I fainted and got a minor concussion... Doctors check everything while you're in the hospital, and I had to call my dad and tell him what happened too. Low blood pressure/sugar will definitely make you lightheaded, so be very careful! (and hospital bills are way too expensive to risk anything anyway :P)
Much love, good luck!
