I am determined to lose with horrible weight that is just suffocating my happy joyful spirit slowly. Therefore I am taking part in a 40 day fast effective as of 12am Wednesday morning (aka now lol). If Jesus could do it, so can I (human or not) I am determines. I have nothing planned for the next 40 days so I need support and guidance in doing this. All comments welcome...
The more the merrier, and it gives me another distraction

Holy God, 40 days. I'm pretty sure even Jesus almost died, darling. Good luck--I'm fasting too but I let myself have a day of steamed greens once in a while. I hate being cold--that's the worst part about fasting!

yes I am working to keep myself busy =)
I've been able to fast for 14 days (which was the initial plan) and I lost weight so I'm aiming for the first 2 weeks and then after that check point it gets really easy. I've done my research and 40 days won't kill me. In fact it will allow for joints to heal over and my digestive track to repair at the same time losing weight. Unfortunately my plans to start yesterday failed because I had a party and I was forced to eat but I've got a doctor's appointment for blood tests to I have to start my fast today.
I shall keep you all posted...and besides now I've said it I couldn't bare going against my word =S
Shall Post 2moro on beginning progress =]

OK thankyou.
Also some people have been drinking tea on the water fast.
Is that allowed? I know coffee is definately out of the question because of those disguisting oils, but tea...it makes a good appetite suppressant at times of desperation so I am justr wondering.

I think green tea is perfectly fine. It boosts the metabolism and there are no oils:)

So today is day two and well yesterday I was lucky to get by. Me and my friends went iceskating and were eating chips in the canteen...I managed to resist all urges to eat anything and now I am on day two with some terrible cramps so I really don't feel like eating at all. I hope today is as sucessful as yesterday =]

I don't want to discourage you from doing what you want, but unless you're going to be almost completely sedentary (staying in bed all day), I would suggest drinking juice and/or eating fruit or vegetables sometimes to keep you some energy.
Make sure you keep yourself hydrated! Good luck! We're all here for support.

Once again yesterday was a success and the hunger cravings have almost vanished! I don't have to work for the next four weeks so I am pretty safe from cravings. The light headedness is almost over and according to my research kertose should be released within the next two to three days. I got a new mirror in my room so when I wake up I have to look at myself so thats my motivation. I shall have to purchase some scales at some point though. Anyone else got anything to share? Oh yes I have been drinking tea as well (plain of course;)) so that's giving me the energy to do things through out the day. As soon as I have more energy I will start to exercise again. Please if you are doing something similar share. I would like to hear about other people's progress.

Good luck, darling!
Be careful - and don't be afraid to stop the fast if your health is concerned.
We want you and your beautiful body alive and healthy!
Some good things to stop a fast (if needed):
juice
saltine crackers
vegetables
Try to avoid sugary foods, they can make you feel sick if you've got an empty stomach.
Good luck to you!! :)
