hi all, this is a bit strange but iv been out of recovery for all of ten days now and have just realised that its been over a year since my last pure fast! so with this in mind iv decided to start afresh and will be fasting from 6th-
13th nov. i would love it if anyone else could join me as it has been a while and even though i have the will power and determination, its always easier when you are sharing the experience with others.
well i start properly in the morning and will check back here everyday until im done and this weight has dropped off for good.:)

hi, well day one of my fast went really well - lockets don't count as food do they? my throat is still killing me! hope your day was a success too. early days but its a good start.

well i fucked up! day 2 of my fast was another success but i was out last night and didn't get home till 8am and the first thing i did when i got in was eat a cookie! don't know why, wasn't even hungry and i didn't even finish it (gave half to the dogs) but i am so annoyed at myself. I'm gona go for a run to clear my head, come home and start from scratch. god damn it. why did i do that? stupid cow. :(

I ate a bowl of cereal last night.
And now I feel like a gross pig.

can I make a suggestion? If you're having trouble sticking to the fast you might want to ease yourself in with a couple days of just raw veggies and veggie juice. I do that and it makes it much easier to transition over to just drinking liquids. Just a thought. I plan to fast but I'm not going to for another couple of weeks yet. I have a baby so I can't drive around completly out of it. But, I'm going away Dec 12 to the 19th so I'll fast then.

hi, i think my first fasting attempt in over a year went pretty well, 2 and a half days - then half a cookie yesterday and i haven't eaten anything since so i think ill be ok.
i do usually (well i used to do this a year ago!) try to stick to a liquid fast for the day after my pure fast, then do couple of veggie days to stop myself from binging as soon as the fast is over.

of course u can, as u can see we are starting again so u have picked the perfect time to join us. just try to check in here everyday (sometimes twice a day) - it will really help. xxx

OK so my cookie fuck up is now a thing of the past, yesterday went really well, i love when u can switch off your brain to an extent and its as though it no longer recognizes food. i walked through the kitchen this morning to get some ice water and the family were sitting round the table stuffing themselves and i just carried on like they weren't even there. i few days ago that would have killed, id be looking at their plates and trying to work out the cals each of them are consuming!
i don't know, maybe I'm just in a good mood because my ribs and hips were hurting this morning - i cant lay on my tummy because they dig in to the bed! :)

so how about the rest of u, had a good day?

fasting can be a bit rough if you've been eating "normal" for a while becuase your body will think it's going into starvation mode. It's better to ease yourself into a fast by first restricting cals then switching to veggies and then fasting. If you just go into a hard cold fast, your metabolism is going to think you are starving--it will stop moving and it will actually work to store fat rather than burn it off. When you do fast, excersise during the fast and it will keep your metabolism moving. Good luck! I've been doing raw veggies for a week and lost 6 about 10lbs:)
