really you don't get an eating disorder to loose a few lbs for summer/christmas/easter
or any other event
it's not a quick weightloss solution
it's
sheer and utter hell,it fucking sucks.
Go and look up complications of Anorexia/Bulimia online and all you people who are just doing this as a diet go see what you're getting yourselves into 'cos once you've started it's very hard to stop.
I've seen to many wannas all over the internet lately, mainly LJ and its starting to piss me the fuck off
ha so I had to let it out.

amen! couldn't agree more
People aren't necessarily doing it as a diet. Eating disorder = disordered eating - it comes in all shapes and sizes. For example, I would never call myself anorexic or bulimic but I haven't been able to eat a single meal for the past eight years without feeling guilty. I feel that the kind of people who are actually able to lose a lot of weight and keep it off on extreme diets must have something wrong with them, even if they/we don't know what to call it.

Whilst I see the many 'wannarexics' online too, they don't actually annoy me because I know they are obviously stupid people for thinking the way that they do.
Conversely, the thing that annoys me the most is people who whinge about 'wanarexics', because it's like they have to keep on complaining about how no one else has it as hard as them and that no one understands what they are going through in weight loss, and they have to keep complaining about wannabes just to assure themselves that they are the 'right' and 'true' person with an ED and everyone else is a fake.
Why would someone wallow in that negativity? Why would one not put any people they think are just pretending behind them and move on, as opposed to dwelling on it? You're no good if you try to fake an ED, but your no better if you decide to complain about 'boo hoo no one knows my suffering I am unique and special'.

I do agree, especially the disordered eating bit. If you experiment with portion control, calorie intake, purging, laxatives....you may not have a medical disorder, but you couldn't say that there was nothing wrong.
A lot of people pretending to have an eating disorder probably have a hell of a lot of other issues (many just want attention), so it's easier to tell them to get help and then move on.
