I have been failing miserably at vomiting. I think I'm scared. I have been unhappy all my life with my weight. For a couple of months I ran 5 miles a day and eat about 1,400 calories. I did everything every doctor or specialist said to do and I only lost about 3 pounds. I have been trying the healthy way for years and nothing has worked. anyways, I gagged and a little liquid came out but I need to throw up entire things and i want to do it quietly. I NEED tips! please don't tell me not to do it because i am going to and chances are you are here for thinspiration anyways. So lets do this together.
Before I begin I want to know how effective bulimia is. How much fat weight did you lose and in what period of time?
I want to do this fast, I owe it to myself!
help me, I need to start this now!

personally speaking, i don't like being bulimic...i try to fast but every now and then i'll go back to binging and then gagging.....i find gagging to be not so fun because first, you look and feel like crap after wards, you have a mess to clean up (no matter how good your aim is), your face gets swollen like crazy, and also you screw up your esophagus, teeth, gums, etc..
i personally recommed eating less..1400 cal per day is a lot..i run and swim every day, i try to get about 3 miles in about 3~4 times a week, i'm looking to increase it to 6miles...and i also swim for about 1hr 3~4 times a week. even with me moving like that, i find that eating about 300~500 cal per day is more than enough..
i don't feel like gagging helps me lose weight..i lost weight a lot faster by just not eating in general..although i have very low will power, so i cave in and eat a bit...and then i'll lose control and go back to gagging for a few days, before i realize i'm being stupid..
gagging takes a lot of time away from you, and its super noticeable..its hard to keep it quiet.....if you want to lose weight fast, i REALLY recommend just eating less or fasting..if you need help with either fasting or eating less, i can help you with those...also i feel like you screw up less parts of your body...
BUT if you still want to do the gagging, i would say drink a lot of water when you eat meals...and you can't be afraid of gagging. like you REALLY have to force it after a while, because your gag reflex will be pretty numbed out..you also get bruises on your hand, AND you may/may not lose your voice for a bit...i currently lost my voice from intense gagging a few days ago......
umm......honestly, i find gagging painful...it hurts too much, and i have to waste 1hr on average after whatever i eat in order to purge everything out..i also get really dehydrated afterwards, AND i dont think its that effective seeing how my tummy is still huge...OH..and it also gets you bloated......
hope my little blabbering was of help, and if you need a buddy to diet with, i can help you with that...although i really don't recommend gagging...

i've been a bulimic on and off for several years now, and from my own experience i have noticed that it doesn't really help you lose weight the way you'd want it to. rather, it helps you maintain the *current* weight, especially if you're not working out.
like cBunny says, it'll be quicker to lose weight by mainly eating very little and exercising a lot. i've been a competitive swimmer and water polo player for nearly 10 years, and the way i tend to lose weight is if i swim 3 miles every day (burns about 1200 calories) and eat no more than 500 calories. that way i would be burning at least 700 calories more than i have eaten per day. once i DO get to the weight i want, i resort to vomiting mainly to keep the weight off. so, to be honest, throwing up never made me get smaller...in fact, by binging you tend to stretch out your stomach and are more prone to being bloated. ): and i actually ended up gaining weight by being bulimic for a certain amount of time because i was always craving food, and sometimes you can't throw up due to location and other reasons.
but, since you need tips on how to do it quietly and so forth, i'll tell you about how i managed.
at first it was really hard and painful. becoming quiet at it might take a while to master, especially if you're the type who doesn't have a great gag reflex. (i have always had a sensitive gag reflex, so i tend to throw up/gag much easier than others, sometimes mainly based on the smell of things too.) but anyways, i suggest doing it in the SHOWER if you can. that way people won't hear you, and maybe turn on a radio while you're in there too. that's what i used to do when i first became bulimic.
i usually stick two fingers down my throat and press repeatedly, and when the stuff comes out i try hard not to remove my fingers from my mouth so that some throw up is still in my mouth, and that makes me gag without having to try hard to press, and so the food starts to come out on its own because of my natural gag reflex.
to make it easier for stuff to come out, drink tons of water while you eat and don't vomit immediately after eating. wait about 15-20 minutes and it should've softened enough, thus coming out more smoothly. i mean, you COULD do it right after, as i tend to do from time to time, but it's a bit hard for certain foods to come out if you don't wait.
right now i'm not a full bulimic, and i have gained weight because i have stopped. but i have reached a level where i can bend over after eating and the food will automatically come out if i use my stomach muscles. it's a bit sad, but it comes in handy too. it also took me about 2 years to be very quiet at it. so if you're serious about it, then you'll figure out how to find ways of binging quietly by turning on sinks, showers, etc, until you can get away with doing it in a quiet area.
that's all i have to say i guess.

yea i agree with these two. to properly lose weight you need to be really active and not eat much. I lost weight with mia in the beginning and it happened all most straight away for me but then after i'd lost about a stone and a half (21lbs) it got much slower and i started fasting etc. neither of which are pretty.

I actually either maintain or gain when I b/p
The only reason I've lost is because after a while I get completely sick of myself and fast for maybe 1-2 weeks
Unfortunately I've given up on restricting. Its all or nothing.

I never lost weight when I purged. At best, I maintained my current weight. You have to be pretty dedicated to purging and there is a skill involved that you develope over time but if you're not doing it right, you'll maintain if not gain weight. 1400 is more than I eat in 2 weeks. Restricting and excersise are really the better options for weight loss. Bulima is much messier and like somebody already said, you look like shit from all the purging.
