You don't have to answer them:D - but I really want to!

What is life? That most unique biological process, fragile and perservering, like a small disabled child determined to learn to walk, who faces another grueling day of physical therapy, with her father near to cheer her along.

Why are there measurements like inches? So tyrants would know how much rope to buy for hangings. Fear mongering can get expenseive you know.

Who decided to make soup/tea and why? The earliest peoples probably made the first soup. It was a good way to get every last shred of protein and fat off of the bones of an animal to make sure nothing got wasted. And throw in a few grass onions and wild herbs and you have something actually edible. They probably used the stomach of the animal to hold the water and stewed the other internal organs inside it with whatever edible plants they could find.

Is any of this real? Yes. Even if it isn't, it is. We may all be nothing more than someone's dream, but that doesn't make our feelings and thoughts any less real. If you doubt this, then you're real, because only a real human can truly doubt.

Why aren't I happy? Because you're not.

How many people are just like me? My statistical guess, 7% of the world population share at least 5 or more personality traits with you. That's about 490,000 people.

What are colors? Differing wavelengths of light as they are received into the cones of your eyes.

Why do we keep animals as pets? It's a variation of the child-rearing instinct that has lent itself to the adoption of individuals of species not human. It allowed our ancestors to domesticate the very first dogs, then bovine, pheasants, cats, etc. In other words, we get lonely.

Why do children enjoy playing with plastic? Don't you remember playing with plastic as a child? It's the most wonderful thing in the world. Your brain can't quite categorize it. It's not wood, it's not metal, and it's not stone, or a liquid. It must be studied and tasted and thrown down the stairs a few times for the purposes of instense scrutiny and play!

What are we doing to ourselves? This question might be easier to answer if it was worded "What are we not doing to ourselves?"

When will I die? There's an app for that: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Why are our bodies built to protect us from everything? Are they? They don't work so well against high velocity objects.

Why is everyone different? Genetic specialization caused by geographic isolation over hundreds of generations. But now that we're no longer geographically isolated, specialization will stop and over time we'll start to look more and more the same. Or do you mean why do we all have different personalities? I blame TV.

What other colors could there be? There could be an infinite combination of red, yellow, and blue of which most are too subtle to be detected by the human eye. If you mean, could there be another primary color besides these three... I have no idea. That's mind blowing.

How big is the universe? The visible universe is only 12 billion light years across, but we know it's probably bigger than that. The reason why we call that the visible universe is because light has not had enough time to travel any further, so we can't see beyond that horizon. But the actual size of the universe may be much bigger than that. And what lies outside the universe? If one big bang could happen, why not several? There may be many more universes outside of ours, existing in their own times, with their own rules of physics, all as big as ours.

How long is forever? Approximately 1 googleplex years. A googleplex is 1 with a thousand zeros after it. After this amount of time has passed, the universe will burn out, cease to expand and time will grind to a halt. I'm so not looking forward to that.

If you touch a cloud, will it disappear? No, but your hand will get moist.

Why do we live with things that could kill us like glass? Well, it won't kill you if you don't break it then slice yourself up with it. Maybe it's not the glass that kills, it's our own clumsiness and stupidity. So go to school and take a gym class too.

What does water smell like? I don't know and it so frustrates me. Humans can't smell water but most other animals can. It's not fair. I guess we have to ask our pets what it smells like... my cat said it smells like blue.

What is life?

Just being human and being alive, do what you wish and see what you make of it.

Why are there measurements like inches?

So you know how big or small something is in proportion to other things.

Who decided to make soup/tea and why?

I can't help you here...

Is any of this real?

Yes, it may feel surreal but... this is living..

Why aren't I happy?

Is anyone happy, really?

How many people are just like me?

In feelings?, lots, in looks? nobody.

What are colors?

Colors are the differences in shade between for instance fire and water, you wouldn't mix them up from a distance away because they are different colors.

Why do we keep animals as pets?

It goes back to when we needed dogs to hunt with and elephants to ride in the old days, it's just a normal human action now.

Why do children enjoy playing with plastic?

Because the plastic is shaped like something the child likes, like a doll, the shape is of a princess or a baby.

What are we doing to ourselves?

Here on WhyEat?, many of us are killing ourselves slowly and dare I say, with a passion.

When will I die?

Probably within the next 90 years.

Why are our bodies built to protect us from everything?

That is like asking the meaning of life, also our bodies don't protect us from "everything" per say...

Why is everyone different?

That is also like asking the meaning of life, but looking at these questions you might as well be asking it...

What other colors could there be?

There are many more but the human eye is not powerful enough to see them

How big is the universe?

Nobody knows...

How long is forever?

As long as is possible depending on the context, but not infinate.

If you touch a cloud, will it disappear?

No, have you ever been on a plain?

Why do we live with things that could kill us like glass?

Because they have other aspects that are useful, we also have heath and safety...

What does water smell like?

It depends, is the water stagnant? x

I've always thought life was just someone's dream. Who's, I don't know:)

Bhuddists call him Brahma. Hindus, too. Trancendants, the Oversoul. But I say it's an extremely powerful computer running a virtual universe of which we are all a part, for the purpose of ancestor simulation so that the ancestors of the people we represent can learn details of their past previously unavailable to them. Eventually we will build our own computers with processing capabilities that approach the one we live in, forcing it to run out of resources and crash.

Or maybe it's Snoopy.

What is life?
A collection of moments from birth till death.

Why are there measurements like inches?
Some dude decided to measure something in ancient times and then as people progressed they wanted something with a little more accuracy. And as time progressed new measurements arose.

Who decided to make soup/tea and why?
Probably just came about with experimenting with new ingrdeients through the growth of civilization.

Is any of this real?
There's nothing to tell us things are real, but there is nothing to tell us that they aren't.

Why aren't I happy?
I think it's impossible for anyone to be completely happy at any given point, whether it be personally, financially, socially, sexually ect.

How many people are just like me?
No one, because no one has lived the exact same life as you have.

What are colors?
Part of a spectrum. Nothing significant I suppose.

Why do we keep animals as pets?
I don't think the first animals were ever kept as pets, but I think as humanity evolved so did the need for companionship. Some prefer the company of animals I guess.

Why do children enjoy playing with plastic?
Children enjoy playing with anything because their imagination allows them to attach any kind of emotion or feeling to it - it becomes far more than just plastic in their hands.

What are we doing to ourselves?
Its human nature and it sucks.

When will I die?
See a psychic.

Why are our bodies built to protect us from everything?
Evolution - to live long enough to breed, continue a species, to survive in adverse conditions.

Why is everyone different?
Why should they be the same?

What other colors could there be?
Maybe millions, maybe none.

How big is the universe?
To define something is to limit it. When you know all that can be, what will be left to imagine?

How long is forever?
Forever is the time I promised him.

If you touch a cloud, will it disappear?
No, but you may get a little wet.

Why do we live with things that could kill us like glass?
Because we invent things with the potential to destroy ourselves. Naievity I suppose.
