I'm going to try this. No need for anyone to chime in- although I always love and welcome feedback. Mostly I'm doing this here b/c it's more likely I'll stick with it if I have an audience to own up to.
I have to beat the binge cravings I've started having via bad food choices. If I can end them, I'll reduce the purging. Which I HAVE to do. I'm going to try the Leptin/Tryptophan angle by sticking with lean proteins and veggies. This shouldn't be a problem b/c these are my favorite foods- over sweets and starches, even. The trick will be getting over the sugar/starch addiction I've quickly assumed since having my med (Prozac) d/c'd and then just eating the proteins/veg in small, frequent meals- no going crazy and bingeing- and then requiring a purge.
The way I'll manage this is by keeping an itemized log of what I eat right here. At some point, I'm sure I'll peter out and stop logging. But I'm going to try to keep it up. And be honest about it. Everyday I stick with this is a step in a healthy direction. So hopefully it will last. Here goes... wish me luck. :cool:

1 serving broccoli and lima beans
2 egg whites (microwaved without butter or oil)
3.5 oz white turkey breast
salt and pepper
calories: 260
Coffee w/ splenda and 1 tsp. dry non-dairy creamer
calories: 20
Diet Swiss Miss Cocoa
calories: 25
Total: 310

2 tbs. natural peanut butter

Diet rootbeer
calories: 400

2 hours at work trimming horses hooves (moderately hard exercise)
calories burned: 365

Mid afternoon (2:30 PM) dinner:
Turkey, stuffing, sweet potaotes, cranberry sauce (Christmas left overs)
Purged all immediately.
Calories left in me after purge: ? Maybe 250 ?

Total calories for the day (the difference after exercise): 685
No solid food after 3 PM.
Actually HAVE to fast for ECT in the morning.

So yesterday I had ECT and was gone for a good part of the day and it screwed up my ability to log. But this was approx. what I ate and how I did:
Had to fast until after ECT procedure, so didn't eat until around 11 AM.
~ Saltine crackers, 1/4 c. ginger ale
calories: 150
~Med. coffee (splenda, milk) and a raised doughnut from Dunkin Doughnuts
calories: 300 (?)
Late lunch:
~turkey, breakfast sausage, scrambled eggs, 1 pc. toast w/jam
Immediately purged most of this meal.
calories left after purge: 250 (?)
Beverages today:
3 diet cocoas
total calories: 75
Skipped dinner, not feeling well.
Total calories for the day: 775-875

Wed. 12/30
Got my period. :( Started taking diuretics yesterday.
Period cramps suck!

Hungry for breakfast.
Scramble eggs with turkey, b.fast sausage, mild cheddar cheese, followed by 4 ginger snap cookies.
Purged 2/3 of this meal immediately.
Calories left after purge: 250 (?)
Diet hot cocoa:
calories: 25
I've forgotten what I ate the rest of the day! Darned ECT totally squashes what little memory I have left!

Thursday 12/31
I had ECT procedure in the AM. Didn't wake up from anesthesia until 8ish.
AM Dunkin doughnuts- coffee (splenda, milk, half decaf) and choc. frosted doughnut.
300 cal.
Came home and crashed for a good part of the day on the couch- anesthesia makes me sleepy.
Made Thai fresh spring rolls for dinner- rice noodles, lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, peanut sauce. Ate two.
200 cal
Hershey's Kisses-
500 cal.
Sparkling pomegranate beverage-
150 cal.
Total for the day:
1150 cal.
No purging. (!) :eek:
