Hi! Does anyone know any foods that make your skin glow? I have clear skin but lately I look exhausted and I want to eat foods that make my face look healthy. I think certain foods with too much spice can destroy your skin. I know oranges help your skin because they contain vitamin C, but the weird thing is recently had sour cream and within an hour my face looked much more 'hydrated'. My skin feels pretty and I love how it looks naturally moisturized. I drink plenty of water (which helps skin stay moisturized) but lately no matter how much water I drank didn't help. Afterwards I moisturized my face with moisturizer and it looked awesome. :)

Here are some foods I think help skin:
1. Oranges
2. Sour cream
3. Cheese
4. Honey + Rosewater
5. Spinach
6. Tomato
7. Tuna
8. Lemon or Green Tea
9. Meat

Spices:
Tumeric + Milk

High Calorie Foods:
Avocado (But too high in calories) :(

I will try to think of more.

Here are foods I think can destroy skin:
(I don't eat these much so I don't know for sure)
Bread (excess carbs)
Junk food in general
Wrong kind of spices
Chillies
Mango

Anyways, I'm wondering what types of foods you feel help improve your skin or any negative effects you've experienced with certain types of foods.

I'll have to try banana and avocado mask, that sounds really good! Egg white masks too, it sounds gross but it makes a real difference to your skin. Too much caffeine is bad for it,I think. I had no idea sour cream was good for it, though? Is it because it's dairy?

Yes, I think it's because it's dairy and because it's hydrating.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

Wow...thanks for this post...I know you were the one inquiring, but none of this occurred to me and I am really going to experiment...probably not orally...but I could use some skin "pick me up's" so I'm gonna try making some mask's and find out what works ; )

Here are some good foods for the skin

Peaches
Oats (I recommend steel cut oats, they are longer to prepare, but worth it)
Cucombers (no wonder they put it on the eyes...) : you can use it as a mask mixed with lemon juice (I once read that in some home made recipe), or you can eat it...best way would be to use both I think hehe...
