I can't stop crying

I just needed a space to vent a little bit. Im just really upset right now. I can't stop crying. I just lost my cat that I had for 17 years. He died in my arms on thursday morning, and it's been so hard for me. I don't even know what to do with myself. If i can keep myself occupied, Im usually okay for a little while. But as soon as I have down time, I start thinking about him, and the way that he passed, the look on his face, and taking him to the vet to be cremated, just leaving him there, and then bringing him home, in an ern... Today I had to go pick up his remains from the vets office. I just have the worst feeling in my stomach right now. I just feel so horrible about everything. I cant even complete a thought, and this is probably all sounding so random. All i can seem to do is cry and eat, but I still feel so empty. I miss him so much....

Believe me I know what you mean. We had a shi tzu for 14 years and in her older age she started to get nippy. One day my daughter went to pet her and she took a huge chunk out of her face! I had to make the decision to put her to sleep:(
My daughter was more important. And that wasn't the only time she bit. She wasn't even sick and I had to have her put down. Now that was hard!! I still feel really bad about it.
