Hi Everyone

Just wondering if any of the girls on here are on the pill for contraception? I take the pill called dianette has it keeps my acne under control and i also use it has a contracetion.
looking back.... when i first went on it approx 3 years ago i did gain weight but now i have lost that weight and i am in the range of healthy for my height. i want to be thinner but i find it very hard to loose weight.... i eat 700- 800 calories a day and i also exercise 5/6 days a week for 1-2 hours.

my pill also is known to make you emotional and i am very moody and cry alot (my e.d. also effects my mood and emotions)

well my question is... do u think it is the pill i am taking that is making it alot harder for me too loose weight or just because i am eating to many calories?

I am scared that if i come off this pill my acne will flare back up and then il be even MORE self concious of myself. but on the other hand will i loose weight easier and could the doctors give me a different treatment for acne (althrough i have tried alot of treatments and dianette is the only thing that seems to clear my skin)

advice would be apprecated xxxx

you pill will not be affecting your weight after taking 3 years. the only reason that going onto the pill can affect peoples weight sometimes is because of the hormonal changes that occur in your body. . .but after a while the effect wears off.

I personally never had a problem with my pill, I didn't loose nor gain. And I find whether I'm on or off the pill it makes no difference to my weight or my ability to loose weight. stick with the one your on because acne is a terrible thing to have, and it sounds like you don't want it back!. . .and also it won't be affecting your weight if you've been taking it that long xx

I read somewhere that the whole bit about gaining weight on the pill is a myth anyways. Hormones will cause your body to gain weight if they're all out of wack but I don't think the effect sustains itself for very long.

Of course, there's all the other crazy stuff that the pill brings about, (like moodiness, cravings, other side effects...) It's up to you whether you want to stay on it or not. If you're using it as your contraceptive device though, I definitely suggest you stay on it.
