Ive been on prozac for like 5 years now. I love it... when it's working. But one of the side affects are I CANT SLEEP!! I work every morning at 5:45am and work at night usually until 11pm. So im exhausted when i get home.. but of course cant sleep.

Anyone on anything else that doesnt affect your sleep!?!?

Yeh I know what you're talking about, I'm on prozac aswell and the insomnia sucks! I also take ativan and stilnox/ambien. Ativan helps alot with my anxiety throughout the day, and the combination of stilnox and ativan at night actually helps me sleep very well.

I'm on metformin, but that's for my diabetes. It kind of sucks though, it often gives me digestive problems and makes me run to the bathroom sometimes. In a way that's helpful because I don't feel hungry if my meds are making me queasy.

I also take Prozac but I don't have insomnia from it fortunately. unfortunately the Prozac has stopped working and I take it for depression. so I have to see the shrink again to change it. I also take an anti-psychotic called Invega for psychosis I had that I don't really want to get into :( ...I take Sprintec to control a bleeding disorder I have and I also take Restoril to help me sleep.

I used to take anti-depressants and anti-psychotics and I can't say they helped me at all. I pretended to get better so I could come off them, but I have to admit I'm still depressed I guess, just not so much that I'm suicidal or can't go to work. I studied Bhuddism, just by random chance because I was so bored, and discovered some things about myself that helped me become much more resilient and didn't really feel so bad all the time anymore.

I'm on lorazepam and Wellbutrin. It's odd because Wellbutrin is NOT supposed to be for people with EDs because it can give us seizures somehow. My doctor knows, but he gave me a high 300mg a day dose O_o

I take Lorazepam for panic attacks and Wellbutrin for major depression/severe anxiety/and possible ADD.

And it's a stimulant anti-depressant...which is scary because I'm an upper junkie and I don't know if I should be taking my poppers etc because I'm terrified of giving myself a heart attack :/

God, I hope I don't get a seizure...that would suck.

Lorazepam PUTS you to sleep (its a benzo like vallium) and Wellbutrin can keep you up, but I know it causes loss of appetite.

My Dr. said it's the electrolyte imbalances that cause complications (seizures) with Wellbutrin. Lorazepam and Ativan are the same thing, I've been on a cycle between that, clonazepam, and diazepam (valium) for the past several years to help with anxiety and sleep disorders.
My sleep disorder is kinda hopeless, though, I've been on pretty much everything for it and the only thing that worked also made me want to kill myself 'cause I was trapped in my own head :( yuck.

right now I'm on clonazepam for sleep/anxiety & supeudol (oxycodone) for my messed up leg. and ventolin for asthma.
Just got off remerol (sp?) as a failed SSRI attempt. Starting new SNRI (dunno which one other than that it isn't effexor, thank god) next.

thing about medication is that it can take forever to find the right ones. I've been trying different stuff over the span of like... eight years or so.
What sucks is that wellbutrin is one of the ones that did more good than bad for my anxiety/dissociative, but now I can't take it because I have a puking problem. Bluh.

I'm on an new antipsychotic called Zeldox (Geodon in the States). Works "okay" but not as good as Risperidone (which I quit because of the weight gain...). I take that for Schizophrenia.

I WAS on Cipralex (Escitalopran) for Borderline, but I had to quit it because of the sexual side effects. So unwelcome. :o

Zeldox makes me a major insomniac so I take a low dose of seroquel on some nights and I'm also prescribed Lorazepam which helps with the oh so common panic attacks and disassociation.

I'm on two pills that cause appetite decrease... (yay)
Wellbutrin (for bipolar... depression)-> This tends to cause insomnia...So I take in AM.
Topamax (for bipolar...the manic)-conveniently this also treats seizures which can happen for ED's on wellbutrin so SCORE...! LOL...bad joke.
Also, I take seroquel (for bipolar...is an anti-psycotic) this cause major weight-gain...bummer...so I try to be careful) Also makes me drowsy so I take at night...
A diabetic and also take two kinds of insulin.
Levemire and Novo-rapid (Was taking 6 shots a day...but now rarely take it cause not eating enough to maintain a high enough blood sugar to have insulin...
So all in all my meds are weird cause some work great with eachother and others interact really badly...
I am slowly trying to wean myself off wellbutrin though because I am majorly restricting food and when I do binge I tend to purge and use lax. so I don't want to risk a seizure but don't want to tell doc either...
Med issues suck!

If it keeps you up, try taking it in the morning.
I'm on so much stuff and I take most of it at night, so I have no problem sleeping haha.
I'm on zoloft, amitryptiline, lorazepam, concerta, cyclobenzaprine, birth control, allegra, simvastatin, atenonol, protonix, meloxicam, and if needed promethazine.
I've taken celexa, it gave me horrible nightmares, and I was on welbutrin, but it just made me more of an emotional wreck and they told me that if I purged I would for sure have seizures (there is a chance but they exageratted.) so if I had purged I would panic and then be anxious for hours, and that obviously didn't help.

In the past I've taken Amitriptyline, Pregabalin, Zopiclone, Diazepam, Nitrazepam, Temazepam and Trazodone. Obviously not all at the same time, I went through a period when I was finding it extremely difficult to sleep and obviously not being able to take most of those medications safely for a long time I had to swap between them all.

At the moment I take nothing for any mental health issues, I feel better for that and if I don't need the medications there is no point taking them. I wouldn't class myself as having long term depression, I go through down patches but we all do. At the moment my routine/sleep pattern is good, although I have some anxiety it's nothing that I can't handle. I do take steroids, antispasmodics and painkillers for my Crohn's disease but that is an unrelated issue. Luckily for me I've never gained weight on steroids - they make the Crohn's so much better though!

i'm on adderall.
it is my lord and savior.
you guys, if you have or think you have ADD/ADHD,
get this medication!!!
it makes fasting nearly effortless.
doctors even prescribe it off-label for obesity.
britney spears and lindsey lohan both have used adderall for weight, by the way.
it's a pretty common thing. although i use it mostly for my innattentive-subtype ADHD.

Just finished taking Prozac...liked it in terms of what it did for my anxiety but hated not being able to sleep or have sex! So I'm switching to Venlafaxine (Effexor) tomorrow. One of the side effects is apparently anorexia. Maybe I'll eventually lose this binge weight!

In the past I have taken (deep breath) Sertraline, Citalopram, Trazodone, Temazepam, Zopiclone, Lofepramine, Mirtazapine, Diazepam...obvs not all at once! Oh and I'm on the pill. You'd think I'd have found a drug to cure me by now!

I'm on Effexor, no weight loss for me because of it, but also no sleep loss. The only side effect I've had (tmi?) is a major drop in sex drive. My boyfriend is going crazy, lol. I'm going to ask my doc to up the dose soon though.

Also on B12 shots, and birth control pills.

I'm currently taking Ativan for anxiety and to help with sleep, Lamictal, and Effexor CR. It is quite easy for me to lose on these meds. I don't have any cravings normally (like I did when Invega was added to the mix). Weight gain isn't an issue for me on Effexor and I didn't notice a change in sex drive because I didn't have one to begin with. LOL!

I am currently on NO medication (while I should be due to my mental state !!! :()
I've been on Xanax (which ended right after I overdosed it as a suicide attempt), Zoloft and other anti-depressant which name I cannot recall :D Lol
Oh, and I also used thyroxine for some time, but I got it myself (for weight thing, obviously), I wasn't prescribed.

I dream about that Adderall thing... I've did my research on it and I have a picture of the GOD in my mind :D Ok, that's not funny. But this is my dream number 1 right now !!! The energy, concentration, loss of appetite and weight..... Aghhh.... <3
..and a little question here : has anyone lost weight on wellbutrin ? 'cause I NEED to go back on anti-depressant & I could really use weight loss as a side-effect..

I'm currently on Zyprexa (anxiety), Lithium (mood stabilizer - I'm bipolar) and Lamictal (another mood stabilizer). In the past I've been on Prozac (depression), Zoloft (depression), Adderall (ADHD), Wellbutrin (they put me on this to quit smoking? Didn't work, and lots of weight gain), Risperdal (anti-psychotic), Ativan (anxiety), Abilify (anti-psychotic), Thorazine (anti-psychotic), Haldol (anti-psychotic), Lexapro (depression and mood stabilizer) and Ritalin (ADHD). Out of all of these, Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Haldol caused me the most weight gain. The ones I'm on now don't really make me gain weight.

Everyone responds differently to each med... I was on escitalopram for a while, and it may or may not have caused me to gain weight, but it totally fucked up my sexual response, which is really annoying. PSSD (Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction) can last for years after you stop taking the med, in some cases - including my case. ¬¬ It didn't affect my sleep, though. It made me nauseous for about half an hour after taking it...

I'm on prozac for anxiety and depression. For some reason the prozac dulls my appetite even more! I don't know why it seems to have the opposite effect on other people. It is working well so far as I don't feel as "numb" or "empty" as I did before. :)

Yeah I want to start taking meds again, I was thinking effexor because citalopram (I was on that last year) made me gain weight, and birth control too. eww.
Effexor seems like a good one (only bad thing I heard is it sucks bad if you miss a dose)

I just don't want to go in to the psych again, I hate it there... So stressful.

60 mg fluoxetine (Prozac). I guess it helps me feeling much better and happy yes, but is not having much effect on my ED. And since i'm taking them I have major sleeping problems, always waking up several times during the night. But I guess I can handle that, for now.

I think people's responses here are pretty much in line with standard practice these days. Prozac is always the first/second choice for EDs. I had no response to it. The only thing that lifts my mood is Adderall, but my therapist doesn't know i take it.

Now that she is asking for me to have my blood drawn before next therapy appt, however, i guess i have to abstain from it for several days. This is going to suck, i'm going to feel sad and tired and hungry all the frickin' time. So i apologize in advance in case i'm a venting-crazy girl on WE for the next few days. oh Adderall... i will miss you!

Slow K for hypokalemia, calci d3 chew for osteopenia

Just last week the psychiatrist at the ED clinic asked my gp to prescribe me sertraline for severe depression as she says this is a safe anti depressant for those with heart conditions. I am frequently in and out of hospital with severe hypokalemia so my psychiatrist wouldnt prescribe me anti depressants as he said my weight was too low and the risks not worth taking. Yet the psychiatrist at the clinic said she wants me on these, however when I went to get them my doc didnt give me them as he said he doesnt usually prescribe sertraline alongside trazadone because of risks. I was so annoyed finally agreed to try them with my cpn and the psych but now my doc has me thinking otherwise. My doctor is going to check with the psychiatrist to make sure she knows I am on trazadone (I told him she did). Anyone else had this problem?

Epilim (other name... sodium valproate? I think that's how you spell it) and Prozac. They don't cause me insomnia though. It's when I don't take them that I can't sleep. :P

I take prozac in the morning and seroquel at night. The two work very very well together and my doctor is getting really great reports and results with whoever she prescribes the two together to. Now, the seroquel isn't meant for sleep, but it's one of those side counter type prescriptions where it's a drug not approved for that but it is prescribed for it at times.

I gotta say I love my seroquel. I'm heavy eyed within 10 minutes of taking it and I go to a nice place of sleepy.

40mg citalopram for depression, been on it for almost 10 years now. tried others like lovan (prozac), effexor, paxil, luvox, aropax, and a few others but always end up back on citalopram. it works well for me and i will prob be on this dose as a maintenence dose for the rest of my life. tried many times to wean off it bit end up a mess so better to just stay on it.
i dont get any side effects which is great.

ive also been on seroquel for borderline, stilnox (ambien in the us), nitrazepam and one other i cant remember the name of for insomnia and rivotril (clonazepam) for anxiety in the past but have come off them all over a year ago because i abused them greatly. ended up in hospital on life support once because of overdosing too. not pretty. my mum suffered ptsd for a long time after that too. so i went off all of them.
im a mummy now and would never EVER go back to abusing prescription meds, or any other drugs for that matter.

im ok with taking the citalopram, it has been given the ok to be used when pregnant and breastfeeding which was a relief coz i dont know how i would of coped without it.

Vyvanse 30 mg for ADHD and Wellbutrin XR 150 mg for depression. I was on Trazodone for sleep but it gave me really disturbing dreams and I begged my p-doc to take me off it.

I know Wellbutrin is SUPER contraindicated for people with even a history of ED's, but my p-doc and I agreed that because I haven't b/p'ed in a very long time, it's probably safe. And for me, the increased seizure risk is a very strong deterrent from even THINKING about purging or any other behavior that could screw up my electrolytes.

I'm supposed to be on 50mg of Zoloft; It worked great for about a year and 1/2 but then I started feeling almost ALL the possible side effects which began to truly affect my life in a bad way so I had to stop taking it. However, I'm still depressed and I know I should find new medication I'm just scared the next one wont work and the side effects will be worse. -sigh-.

Currently on:
Effexor 300mg for depression.

Started taking Zoloft for depression when I was around 13, was on and off that until 20/21 or so? Tried Cipramil for about a week and that just made me feel like a zombie. So then started Effexor. Started on 150mg, that went up to 300mg after a couple of years. In 2007 (I was one 300mg by this point), my depression got really bad and so I started also taking Avanza. Helped my depression but caused massive weight gain. So glad I'm off it.

I am currently taking paxil for anxiety, lamictal for my bipolar II disorder, a med that starts with an "h" for depression, and adderall for my ADHD. I have only been taking adderall for a few days, as I was just diagnosed with ADHD, but I hope to *God* I can see some weight loss and appetite suppression from it:)

- Prozac for bulimia and depression
- Iron because I'm anaemic
- Multivitamin because my dietician suspects I'm deficient in a load of different things
- Antibiotic because I have chronic mouth infections due to purging probably
- Co-codamol (strong painkiller) for the pain caused by mouth infections and really bad headaches

I often forget to take some of them, and some need to be taken with food, some need to be on an empty stomach, can't take more than one within four hours etc etc.

I started with Celexa, which was supposed to nip both the depression and anxiety in the bud but it didn't work for the anxiety so now I'm on Buspar too. The whole last semester while I was trying to do classes and sorority and vaulting and everything else, there was constant med overhang. Every 3 weeks I was going back in the up a dose or add a med and every time the whole week after whatever change was full of side effects. I'm pretty effect-free now though. Sleep is a bit of an issue but I really can't say if it's honestly the meds or not because I was an insomniac before them lol.

I also take Singulair and Advair for my athlete's asthma and my rescue enhaler is Proventil.

I'm on seroquel for bipolar and topiramate that my psychiatrist gave me to "counteract" the weight gain from the seroquel. She noted my "history" with EDs and considered that I flat out wouldn't take the seroquel if it would cause weightgain.

Unfortunately, being given seroquel in itself was triggering, and then being given the topiramate (it was staggered a couple of weeks later to monitor for side effects) afterwards was even more triggering, so I sort of wound up at square one.

I do appreciate that my psychiatrist was nice enough to appeal to my PCT to prescribe me topiramate as it usually would not be given to me for a) my conditions and b) the cost.

Sleeping pills.
vitamins : B and D.

Probiotics.
And other stuff...

I stopped the topiramate,

Used to take zyprexa,
pills for tension,
pills for anxiety,
the kind of pills they give you on the hospital too be all day like high/sleepy/ghostly.
I don't know, i had like 20 pills per day in the past, now i have 10. (getting better! yay!)

20 mg Abilify, Gabaran, Orfiril (the last two are for epilepsy. I don't have it, but they help with my anger issues&anxiety).
I recently stoped Abilify for a week and it made me so depressed and suicidal, that I wouldn't get out of my bed. When I finally did, I went on a block of flats and wanted to jump. I didn't, as you can see hehe. Never stopping my meds again. It's actually scary to realise you can't literally function without your meds.

Finally got my butt to the doctor...
I was on Celexa ages ago but that worked out horribly and I wasn't on anything for a while

Now I'm on Prozac (slowly increasing dose) for ED, depression, anxiety
Gabapentin as needed for anxiety/panic attacks and also every night to help sleep (this one makes me feel so wonky and I can't really do much on it so I try not to take it until I'm done with my classes and homework unless I absolutely have to)
Aviane birth control
my vitamins (D, calcium, omega-3, probiotic for IBS) and Metamucil for IBS and also because it makes me feel all light and unbloated and healthy :)

We shall see if the Prozac starts working soon (I really hope so)

Effexor-XR 300mg (anti-depressant)
Dexamphetamine 15mg - basically like the name implies, it is an amphetamine, similar to what is in ADHD medication. I take it for ideopathic hypersomnalence (a fancy name for excessive tiredness). Only started it last November - of course, the ED part of me was hoping it would completely suppress my appetite, but it only did that for the first day.
