There's a beautiful tiny island off the coast of Japan called Enoshima that I would like to see one day, but my weight makes it hard to fly and I'm sure I would look like a monster next to all the thin, small, Japanese people.

Maybe I'll just go to Catalina instead,... or, nowhere.

if your weight makes it hard to fly then you could go on a cruise ship :] those are so lovely, and you get your own cute little room with a view of the ocean. my english teacher always talks about japan and how he lived there and he loved it. my parents went there for their honeymoon, and i kind of went with them, since my mom was pregnant with me then. anyways, i want to go there one day. sushi is so good and i love lanterns and kimonos and the lights in tokyo are so gorgeous

Not sure I could afford to take a boat. My time and money are limited.

I hope you get accepted. I went to WLAC myself. It's a small community college.

Yes I hope I can lose weight permanently this time. I think I just may. If I do. If I can get down to 200 lbs or less. I'm definately going to Enoshima.

Well maybe u could just save up money, and use "going to japan" as extra motivation. Something to live towards to.

I am new and I would like to know about growing your own liverock and copepods. My tank is about 4-5 months old with pc lighting and good current. Should I scrape the algea off the front glass or let it grow for the coralline algea and copepods?

Hi Inemesyexcemn,

Not everyone needs to culture copepods. If your live rock just needs a little boost or you have a thriving refugium but have seen less and less of the "little white bugs" that inhabit it, just buy some 'pods and put them into your system to boost the population - no extra culturing is-- wait a second....

I think you have this forum confused with something else.

Also, why does your signature link to a job hunter site for Moscow? Are you trying to hire away all of America's ED sufferers? I can't believe Moscow has .74% unemployment while Los Angeles has like 22%. That's absolutely amazing. Go capitalism!

....but seriously, your copepods should have enough food without the algea on the front glass so go ahead and scrape it off. Let us know if you think your copepods are developing an ED because of this, we can help with that too.

I would like to feel like i was doing proper excerise while doing it. Im not sure exactly what i would want as the exercise, but something that combines many stretches into a proper exercise.

What do you guys think?

You want recommendations on exersizes you can do while cleaning your fish tank? Have you tried Yoga? It helps you stretch and be flexible. Someone was discussing pilates in another thread too.

BTW what does any of this have to do with me wanting to visit Japan??

japan would be kewl... so much history.

i had problems taking a plane ... it was terrible... my butt had to squish into the seat that was too small. i couldnt fasten my seat belt, it wasnt long enough. i was in the middle seat, with someone on either side which made it so i couldnt even try to relax, trying not to have my arms not touching other peeps. but i weighed more than you do now.

when you get to about 230-240lbs flying shouldnt be a problem.

the only thing that will suck is having to take your shoes off at the airport and not being able to take more than a 2oz container of any one thing. that includes shampoo, lotion, toothpaste!!! its crazy ...

i hope you do go. take lots of pics :)

Well....

I'm 200 or less now. What do you guys think, should I go? I've got enough money from all the food I didn't buy.

I've lived in Japan for a while. It's the absolute best place in the world to visit, but you need some psychological preparation to live there :p but I loved it, and I wanna go back to living there.
If you can and you want to then why not? You should go!

What kind of psychological preparation? I'm intrigued now.

You said you wanted to if you got under 200! I think it should be your celebration! Plus it's always great to go on holiday! I think you've earned it :)

Japan is on my places to go to as well.

Sorry for being late replying.

It's just extremely different. It may seem like a fun learning experience (it is) but for me, and most foreigners living in Japan, it can be difficult to get adjusted to life there. Plus, I wouldn't call it "racism", as such, but there is definitely a strong separation there that you won't notice when you're a tourist, but it's inevitable when you're trying to live in Japan. But overall it's a positive thing, despite all the hardships, it definitely made me grow as a person :) <-literally too, ahah, the food there is seriously too good :(
