I've always had bad anxiety and been claustrophobic, but it's gotten steadily worse over the years. These days there's a lot of things that I just can't do because of it, and the list keeps growing.
I'm getting CBT and it doesn't seem to be working for me.

But my problem right now is tonight:
Me and my friends have been planning a halloween party for weeks to be at a friends house. We were just going to get some food and watch a few horror films- I've been looking forward to it.
But yesterday I realised that I havn't been to any one elses house in ages. Then I got thinking about the fact that they might lock the doors while I'm there, and I won't be able to get out. I'm really panicking about it now. I've even had thoughts of trying to steal a house key while I'm there to make sure I can get out, and then leave it as I go. But I probably won't be able to find one.
I'm seriousley worried that I'll have a panic attack there, and so I'm making excuses not to go. But I really want to go.
I don't think I can though.

Does anyone have any advice that might help me to go. Please! It's tonight.
I wish I wasn't such a freak, this shouldn't be so scary for me.
help :(

Wait, your friends might lock the doors while you're in the house? If that's the case, then you will be ok, doors lock from the inside. :) Unless you're like me and have trouble figuring out locks, in which case.....I've got nothing. But if it's you'r house that you're afraid someone might lock you out of, then yea, get a house key.

Yeah I'm hoping it'll be that kinda door (can open from inside) but at my house you need keys for both sides.
I know, I overthink everything :L

I have never even heard of locks on both sides, that you need keys for anyway. I would be dooooooomed.

It'll be ok, if it happens that they have those locks too just tell them that you would prefer them unlocked, because you have difficulty with locks.

Thanks :)

Basically, I decided I couldn't go and told them I'm ill.
I felt bad enough about that.

And then my dad found out and he was angry. He said I "need more medical attention," that I'm "slipping away", "going to end up with no friends", and that how I am is "not healthy".
Now I'm scared he's gonna try and send me away or something D:

Try and think of it as a way to get the help you deserve. Sorry that you felt that you couldn't make it to your friends party. *hugs*
