Last Friday I had quite a bad tooth ache and it kept getting worse so on Wednesday I went to the dentist and they told me I need to have a root canal done. The process will cost me about $1200 CDN, (I have no dental coverage.) I'm not excited for it but I know it has to happen and it just sucks it has to be next week. I'm able to pay it in installments but this is just another reminder that we need to try our best to respect our bodies (especially teeth) because its very expensive to get fixed. Although, I know the mind has a power of its own.

Anyway, wish me luck with this ; I hope it goes okay because I've never had a filling where they had to freeze me. (kinda scared.)

Has anyone else here had a root canal done before? If so what was your experience like.

I personally haven't had a root canal done, but people who I've spoken to that have gone through it said that it can be quite unpleasant.

Good luck to you though :) I'm sure everything will be fine and that it will go smoothly.

Thank you, Its being done in 2 parts since its roughly 2hrs and I think it would be too tramatic at once so we will see,
It's a big wake up call though, haha.

Lol yeah it wouldn't be very good!
Although they have tvs in dental offices now which I find a bit weird but I guess it's good so you're distracted but they also let you listen to your ipod, oh times have changed.

They would here too but I haven't experienced that luxury yet haha I've been seeing the same dentist for like 10+ years and sadly, he hasn't updated his office haha :p

I have had 2 done. I personally don't think they hurt. the dentist will be sure to numb you up really well since he will be killing off nerves in that tooth. I do advise you to ask to be numbed INSIDE the tooth, just in case of any nerves he/she may hit. other than that, there pretty damn painless. However i did have a small ache afterwards, but Tylenol helps :)
