So I just wanted to give some info that I thought some of you might find helpful. So I have IBS VERY BAD!!!! (severe diarrhea) Anyways I have seen a lot of people post questions about pain in there stomaches and or getting tests done to try and figure out what is wrong with them even though they have had some of these problems for a long time.

Well there is this test that I just got done which is called Leap MRT. It is a blood test to find out what you have food sensitivities to. This is the best test out there because they test you on up to a 150 different things. This is also much different then a food allergy test that you can get done at any doctors office. This test only gets done in a few places. (I had to send my blood to Florida.) I should also tell you that this test does cost a lot if your insurance company wont pay for it. My dietitian has an account with them and I only had to pay $295 but the test can cost up to $900.

Anyways I had this test done and it took 2 weeks to get my test back. When I got it back sure I was pissed off that some of my favorite foods where on the list of things that I am sensitive to. How it works is that the have 3 groups. Green, Yellow and Red. Green means those are safe and you didn't react to them that much. (within normal limits) Yellow means that you did react to them but not as strongly. Red are the ones you reacted to the most. Once you have your list you then need to stop eating your foods that are in the Red and Yellow areas. And only eat things in the Green. They give you not only your list but this book so you can learn more about everything and they give you a meal plan on what to work in and how to slowly add your green foods in.

It is a really cool thing and even though I haven't started to really do the plan yet (because my dietitian wants me to be eating right now she doesn't care what I am eating as long as I will eat) I have though tried to stay away from the ones in the Red though but its hard to say if anything is working.

Anyways if you do have stomach problems and doctors have done a lot of tests and your still looking for answers you may want to look into this. Also this test is used for a lot of other things like...... migraine, fibromyalgia, Crohns, ulcerative colitis.

If you have any questions please ask because even though I am new with this I have a lot of info that they sent me and I have been talking to my dietitian about this and she knows a lot about it so if I don't know the answer I will ask her.

I would love to have this done. I know I have a wheat sensitivity, but I feel like I'm missing or refusing to believe another sensitivity.

You should look into it. It is a great test and they are better than an allergy test you get at the doctors. Plus with the wheat sensitivity they break it down to Buckwheat, Amaranth(grain), Quinoa, Rye, Corn, Rice, Barley, Millet, Oat, Wheat, Kamut, and Spelt. So they will be able to figure out which one of these is your problem because if you go to your doctor and just get a normal test it might come back with just wheat but there could be more to it. Thats the same for people who claim that they are gluten free it could just be one thing or it could just be a chemical also. So like for me my chemicals that are in the Red or Yellow where Solanine, capsaicin and sodium sulfite. So not only do those chemicals affect me but that also means the foods that these chemicals appear in naturally. So even though I got green for peppers and potato's because they have natural chemicals in them I need to stay away from them when I start the program.
