I knew you were talking about her just by reading the thread's title ;)
She wants to reach 1,000 pounds, she eats more than me and said she's been feeling sexier since she went up the 220kg mark...(or was it 220pounds? whatever...)
My take on that is that she's a compulsive overeater and had suffered from always being chubby, then obese and somehow defended herself by taking pride in being a BBW, looking for men who appreciate extreme fatness.
As for the weight record she wants to break (if it's ever possible to gain that much without dying in the process) it could be a strange way to deal with her BED...like, since she doesn't feel able to stop it, she tricked her mind into believing she wants to gain gain and gain? I dunno, I believe I can understand ALL eating issue but this.
I've been struggling all my life to lose weight, I've never thought about giving up not even now that I have 100+ to lose, I just can't understand.
This has nothing to do with fat-acceptance, in my opinion, unless is some twisted way she believes it has.

Oh well, read the article you linked...it talks about different, higher weight than the one I've read last week.
She wants to reach 1,600 pounds? Is that humanly possible?
CAUTION.

That. Is. Repulsive. Like, disgustingly I-just-lost-whatever-appetite-I-had disgusting.

She is obviously sick...physically and mentally. Can you imagine seeing a news story about a woman who wants to see if she can paralyze herself or get diabetes or cause harm to herself in one way or another? That is essentially what she is saying. I find it obnoxious we are giving her the spotlight.

This reminds me of something.. an eating disorder.
If it was the other way around "I want to be super skinny" they would throw her in a treatment centre.

I've seen other people that have the same wish. I do think this woman has an eating disorder and/or body image issues, but I know that some people wish to become fat solely due to certain fetishes. I think this woman is taking it overboard though. It's very possible to be overweight and healthy, but it goes without saying that 1000 lb is not at all healthy.

Doing this to yourself is one thing, but when you have a family, 2 kids, and you want to do that to your body... morbidly obese people get skin sores, increased risk of diabetes, risk of high blood pressure, risk of sleep apnea, their mobility becomes minimal, not to mention the issues surrounding losing the weight when/if she decides to.. Eating disorder or not, she's claiming to WANT to do this to herself and boasting about it to the media.. That's the part that I find sick. :/

This is really interesting. I was just sat here thinking "Why would she do that to herself? She's going to kill herself in the process, she must realise that?"
But I imagine healthy people say pretty much the same thing about anorexics - "Why would they do that to themselves? Don't they realise they're killing themselves?"
Wow. This really is so effed up.

I remember reading this article before a week back or so, and like ilovelost said, I just kind of sat there wondering why she would do that?
I really don't have that much of an opinion (other than I find it disgusting, but I'm not one to talk about calorie consumption...)
I feel like a terrible person saying this, but I thought it was funny when she told the reporters she goes for a "waddle" every day, as opposed to going for a walk.
My two cents~
