My thighs are incredibly disgusting, there flabby and just overall big.
i have cut down my calories alot (no more then 200, even then i still rarely even have that many) then i go on my treadmill (no specific hour of the day and for no specific time limit) no less then 10 minutes though.
ANYWAYS. point is, i read somewhere on this thread that running can make them more muscular and not more thin.. i never usually "run" on my treadmill, i power walk. do you think my routine of low calories and alot of walking will make my legs THINNER or MUSCULAR?!
im getting a little nervous now, the only thing that crosses my mind is "you are gunna have bigg fat muscular man thighs!"
hellppp! if them becoming more muscular is the case.. any tips on how i can screw the muscle and just burn the fat??

You need the muscle to burn off the fat. The more you tone your thighs and restrict, the more likely you will lose weight.

However, your body is probably just not taking off the weight from your thighs first. And theres nothing you can really do about that, it's your genes.

I'd say keep up what you're doing, but instead of doing cardio for your legs (like walking and running) try some yoga stretches. These will keep your muscles working but are likely to add less bulk than cardio exercises.

I've found some things on this site to be helpful: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Vision Thing, i completely agree with you. I've seen a few of your posts and you really know what you're talking about!! it's refreshing.

anyway, you do need cardio to accelerate the process of burning fat. running is one of the best, most efficient ways to do that. as long as you're not doing sprint workouts or lifting really heavy weights on your legs, you won't get muscular man thighs. i think longer runs would be the best thing to get thin legs. like vision thing said though, it may not come directly off your thighs, since your fat distribution is in your genes. my fat goes to my butt and thighs, and it drives me insane, so i know how you feel.

ps- yoga is amazing too

Hahahah well :o bio student

Oh yeah I wasn't meaning to stop doing running, but to alternate it with other exercises

Anyone have any thoughts about interval running? I heard it can be quite effective but I've read a lot of conflicting things??

today i actually read an article in women's health that interval running burns fat the fastest. like sprinting as fast as you can for 30 sec-1 min, and then jogging/walking in between. i tried it and it's really really hard (i tried to do 20 sets of 30sec sprints with 1min walking for rest). apparently it burns the most calories

That's really helpful, thanks a million.
I was planning to sprint for 30 sec and then walk for 30, or do it by like visual things in the running paths near where I live (e.g. run to that tree, walk to the next etc).

I've never really tried it but I heard it was the most effective due to how it manages the lactic imbalances that comes when you exercise. Unfortunately I got new shoes and got blisters ALL over my feet so I can't exercise untill they get better, which it really getting annoying

I am a 27 year old female. I have been doing fitness forever and lifting for about 4 years. Just recently I have decided to start training for shows. I am getting a little frustrated that I cannot lose that last little bit of fat on my body. Can you suggest any good cardio routines or weight lifting routines that will help me?
