for their own happiness or misery?
to what extent responsible for their life's events?
to what extent the victim responsible
for their murder?
to what extent the murderer responsible
for killing,
being on death row,
being beaten by his father,
goaded by his peers,
scorned by his teachers,
driven crazy by his silent torment?
To what extent a girl responsible
for her rape and beatings?
To what extent a woman responsible
for beating, raping her daughter
and granddaughter,
for being raped and beaten
by her parents?
to what extent a man responsible
for the painful destruction of his family,
for keeping silent as his wife abused his daughter,
for his neighbor abusing him as a boy,
for his society not caring to find out,
not caring to help?
to what extent anyone responsible
for the insistence of silents magnifying their pain?
to what extent the silent responsible
for the suicide of countless children,
tired of being teased, bullied, threatened,
kicked out, denied their civil rights?
to what extent the bullies responsible
for interpreting silence as invitation,
for taking the preachers word as Gospel?

To what extent responsible!

Thanks for the comments and complements :) I could not sleep, my mind was racing, was thinking about stuff like victim blaming vs. putting blame with the perpetrators and the idea that people have control over their lives vs. fate. This was my way of processing that.
