im not really sure how to describe this but i did a lot of walking last week and on wednesday my right upper thigh (right at the top by my hip) started to ache. it ached for most of the day, not horrific but noticeable then i literally took one step and cried out with the pain. it felt like my leg was gonna give way, and i had to hobble to get around the rest of the day, holding back the tears cos it really hurt. this seems sinple enough, i walked a bit too much and hurt my muscle. only its been over a week now and its not getting any better. it aches constantly but sometimes when i walk (especially up the stairs) i hav to bite my lip to stop crying out. ive taken really strong painkillers and they havent touched it. getting dressed is difficult, walking is painful and im getting fed up now. does any one have any idea what i could have done to it? if it was just a muscle pain surely it would have eased by now!
on a side note ive noticed that the veins all over my body have become really noticable lately, especially my thighs, arms and stomach!

Oh I'm so disappointed nobody's responded to this.
I did some thigh / bun / ab pilates and then jogged for 30 minutes two days ago and then was literally on my feet for the entire 8 hours of my shift the next day, mostly standing in one spot cashiering, but also running back and forth to the stock room and up and down the stairs and doing some fairly heavy repetitive lifting. The tops of my thighs were aching yesterday. Today I tried to get out of bed and both of my calves were completely locked up. It took me a good 5-10 mins to hobble around enough to put weight on my left leg but it's been rough all day.
I too literally teared up when I had to go back up and down those stairs and I've usually got a pretty high pain tolerance. I've been googling leg pains and ed's and trying to figure out what it could be, but its not turning up anything real conclusive. Pain killers weren't helping me either, but they weren't all that strong.
I'm trying to massage them, rest them, but I'm not all that sure what else I can do.
If you find something that helps, please let me know!

It could be that you're getting more circulation then your body is used to because you've been working out more. I definitely don't have any other reasoning for you but if this keeps up I really suggest that you go to your doctor... and get checked out because it may be something more serious. It's not really completely normal for the pain to be lasting that long and your veins should not be more noticeable.
I would try to stay off it as much as you can for the next little while as well. Take hot showers and hot baths and when you get out, massage your leg completely with some soothing lotion. You can go to the drug store and buy some of those heating pads, or even the ice gel. Both of those seem to help muscle pain but you will probably have to experiment with him.
I hope you figure out soon what is going on or at least have the pain go away!. It's probably gone already. Let us know.

I get those too. My ED psychologist told me that more water and more potassium will help with muscle cramps and pain. Bananas, soybeans (edemame), spinach, blueberries and pears are all good sources of potassium.
