I am turning the chat off for a bit to keep the server load down, it seem to take a lot of resources... i am looking into upgrade options...

Not sure when i can put it backup, it was causing a major problem and next upgrade option is costly right now.

I Enabled the chat for now, but i will turn it off on high server load! this way you can at least use the chat till i can figure out a good solution for it.

CHAT-> Made is so you can only chat with friends in your friends list! trying to keep the load down.

Ok the chat is causing too much high load with already busy site, so it will be down for a while till i can figure something out... sorry.

will it back to normal and been able to talk to everyone as well as friends in future? I don't mean next time you put it back up as you said the reasons why you have to take it etc but is it permanent the friends only chat or just for the time being?

Its a bit of a bind, server load is fine without the chat, but the second the chat is used it shoots up really high to max out entire server resources and make the site unusable. I have many new servers i have build at my place that can handle the site and the chat but i can't afford to get the connection setup for it, which is 2-3times more then the site makes.

So pretty much its like having new car without the fuel to run it!

I agree. If we want to chat, we should find other ways of doing it, like setting up a separate IM client account, like AIM or something like that. :D

How about making a an #irc channel on some server? You'd have to register with the same name you have on this forum and in case it's taken, PM you with their IRC name. People could chat with each other and it wouldn't eat up brandwith. Put some bot in charge if no one can be there 24/7.
