Hey =) I haven't formally introduced myself as of yet, and I will in the near future, but not now. I've been lurking for a while and figured this was a good place to ask for some advice.
I have a blood test on Monday that I need to up my levels for. What are the best foods to gorge with to up levels? I've been doing an average of 50 calories a day, so I need to fix this as much as possible, for the blood test. Even if I don't come out with flying colors, I'd like to pass without looking dead! =)
Thanks for any advice.
God Bless,
Amanda

I don't really know what I need to up. I just know that they're taking a blood test to see how bad off I am, in order to decide if I can remain at college or not. =/

They will check your full blood count. This will check for things like low iron (anemia). So to boost this you will need to take iron supplements like ferrous sulphate, or if you had more time it would involve eating high iron foods like spinach, broccoli!!!
They will check your U&Es. Imbalances in your U&E's show signs of dehydration, malnutrition, self-induced vomiting and laxative and/or diuretics. So make sure your well hydrated for the test. Gatorade is a good idea. No vomiting or laxatives or anything prior to the tests!!!!
They will also check your calcium and magnesium. Drink plenty of milk if you can, I know it's hard.
I don't mean to be mean, but now it probably won't make much of a difference, as you don't have much time left.
Basically you can combat a lot of the problems faced by blood tests by being well hydrated, (but don't drink crazy amounts otherwise it might tip you the other way hee hee)

It was really strange... my heart was bad, my pulse and BP low, I had a low Hb, but other than that, even at my lowest weight of 69lb, my bloods were never really that bad!! I was lucky I guess!!!! You might be lucky too!!!!!!

So... Update. My results came back low, but within the "normal" range.
Thank you guys so much! This will help a LOT for future reference.
What I did was took lots of vitamins, including calcium and iron supplements, and I made myself hold down 1000 calories for three days (because I figured as soon as it was through, I could totally make up for it). I also drank a lot. I still ended up being dehydrated though... the campus nurse couldn't get my veins, so I had to go to the hospital, and they said my veins were collapsed, so after they took the blood, they put me on the IV for a brief period of time. UGH.
Thanks again!
