CINDERELLINGER imma have to agree with you on Joy Division lol
i also love Sex pistols, Ramones, The Dead Kennedys, alot of the old school punk.
i also love Bob Marley.
and for todays music Marianas Trench has helped me through a lot.
i love rap too.. ones with actual stories, like the old Eminem, and Tupac etc.

Right on, Sosic! Have you seen the movie they did about the lead singer called Control? It's really good and I definitely suggest you check it out if you're a big fan of Joy Division.
Some other bands I've been listening to lately...Mogwai, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, and Bloc Party, (saw them live. Quite good.)
And I almost constantly listen to Bob Dylan.
And, like Sosic, very much into Bob Marley...pretty much any musician who smokes/smoked a lot of weed...which also includes a lot of rappers. Have to say my fav right now is Notorious B.I.G. Wow, I could talk about music all day.

Thanks so much for the friend add! Do you have MSN because we should definitely chat. Also, very cool that you saw that movie. I know like, one other person who's seen it.
I'm definitely going to check out Sid and Nancy. Been meaning to watch that so I'm going to go ahead and put it at the top of my Netflix list. That's the one where Sid Vicious is played by Gary Oldman, right? That man has to be the most talented actor never nominated for an Oscar...thanks for the rec!

My favourite artist of all time is, far and away, MUSE. Oh my goodness, the only band I can ever fangirl over.
Other favourites include: Evanescence, Epica, Emilie Autumn, Angelspit, Apocalyptica, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Nightwish... the list is pretty extensive. I tend to have favourite tracks - usually favourite bits of tracks - rather than actually liking bands/artists in general, though.
Mines will always be Libertines, Babyshambles and Peter Doherty.:D

I have a top 5 I'd say and I'll tell you who they are and why I love 'em
In alphabetical order of course
All Time Low- They were the first band that I honestly loved through and through
bands before I'd like loved their music, but I loved everything about all time low from the music to the members and I still do just not as much. Their music never fails to put a big grin on my face or at least make a shitty situation feel a little better.
A Day To Remember- I first discovered this band when I was looking for gigs to go to, the buzz around their gig at the music box in Manchester was tremendous, people were saying it was a gig not to be missed and loads of people seemed dead stoked about it. So I decided to listen to them and I fell in <3 with the music,I loved the poppunk/hardcore crossover style they had and discovered a few new favourite songs
such as I'm made of wax larry, what are you made of?
Mr Highway's thinking about the end
and monument
Brand New- I've loved Brand New for a quite a while but over recent months they've grown to be my favourite band, they're another band i heard about through the buzz about them .They've got a huge underground buzz (they sold out wembley but go to the average person on the street and they'd have no idea who Brand New are) Jesse Lacey is pretty much a lyrical genius he writes such beautiful songs
my favourite Brand New song changes often but some of my favourites are
I will Play My Game Beneath The Spin LightIf Looks could really kill, Then my profession would be staring
Seventy times 7And is that what you call tact, your as subtle as a brick in the small of my back
The Archers Bows Have BrokenYour shouting so loud, you bareley joyous broken thing, you're a voice that never sing
actually they're loads more songs I love by them, i pretty much love every brand new song so i'll be here for ever
I've just got their new album and although it's not my favourite ...Deja Entendu is incase you were sondering ,I'm slowly growing to absaloutley love it.
Also Brand New are amazing live ,I've seen them twice now and both times it was just an incredible experience, they sure know how to work a crowd without saying to much and just blasting through song after song. Both times I've had to leave early because of stupid stupid trains...grrr but hopefully next time I see them ,I'll be able to drive and therefore can stay the whole set. Last time I saw them I ended up getting the time wrong which gave me 10 minutes to get to the station (usually a 20 minute walk)
So i pelted down the road at full speed, luckily I managed to get the train...IT WAS 5 MINUTES LATE YAY! (the only time I'll ever be happy about public transport being late)
Close To Home- These guys have been one of my favourite bands since Year 8 ,that's around 4 1/2 years, I discovered them when someone posted a thread about them on a message board ,I checked them out and fell in love with their style of music. They are all such incredible guys and they inspire me every day, especcialy their late bassist Brad who died of Cancer in 2006, throughout the year of 2005-2006 , I saw through the internet his struggle ..yet he always seemed to be so upbeat and optimistic about the hand he'd been dealt. He felt that God had given him cancer for a reason and though I know he went through some very tough times his faith never wavered and his will to get better was always there. Even when he hit rock bottom,he was still optimistic "there's nowhere to go but up from here". When he died it was incredibly sad for all his bandmembers but they decided to keep the band going because they knew that's what he would of wanted, I remember them actually playing a show they had on 7th October (they day after Brad died) because he wouldn't of wanted them to cancel it which I'm sure was extremly hard for them. They wrote a song about his passing called Seattle Skies and on during the time he had cancer called Please Tell Me (which always makes me cry).Of course though it's the music that drew me to them at first and it still is, I've seen them grow from an okay band to a really really awesome one, they've been through some tough times, yet they've had tons of good times to. They make me realise that even if life does get shit it can get better.
My Passion- Their music may not be the best but they are such lovely lovely boys
and they put on an awesome live show.
Plus sticking on their album and just having a dance gets me in a really great mood
ahaa i think I've blabbed a bit to much now ,I'll shut up

She's suffered through drug-addiction, depression, schizophrenia, self-harm etc. etc. so her music can relatable to a lot of people. And it' also has such a cool sound - like, rock and hip hop fused with screamo. Music get me through hard times ^-^

Dome Cobb leads a highly skilled team, with people's minds specializing in stealing secrets by entering their dreams. When he is hired by a mysterious businessman, Cobb finally got a shot at redemption, but not before nearly impossible to achieve. Instead of stealing an idea, they are completely opposite: will be established.

Elliott Smith - hands down. He was, IMO, one of the most relevant songwriters of the past 20 years. Every song is a gem, which is a rarity - truly some of the most poignantly heartbreaking and utterly beautiful music I've ever heard...

You a fan of Lush, by any chance? I still want Miki's hair.
And anyone who mentioned "Control" needs to watch "The 24 Hour Party People." Steve Coogan acts to pieces. Again.
I try to keep an open mind, musically - the Sound, Frank Chickens, Julia Kent, Rosa Yemen, Oumou Sangare. Really like St. Vincent, Aloha, and Violens for modern bands.
